I think we can now safely say PS3 emulation is legit and is here to stay. The sound doesn't work however, but still, if you showed me this footage just few weeks ago I would think it is fake. The team can be supported on Patreon and the emulator is open source. Man, Vulkan unexpectedly did some great things for emulator development.
God of War 3 on PC Yes please.
Wow, that Ni no Kuni gameplay is quite smooth.
Wonder how long until Uncharted and Infamous start working?
MGS4 when
Man, I wouldn't mind playing my PS3 games on my PC, but I don't have a Blu-Ray drive and fuck downloading isos for games that large.
MGS4 when
Holy shit you're right why wasn't that my first thought MGS4 WHEN
MGS4 with higher res and smooth fps would be godlike. Also get ready for Red Dead Redemption on PC
MGS4 with higher res and smooth fps would be godlike. Also get ready for Red Dead Redemption on PC
Imagine if we could do something like Smash Brawl and Dolphin where we revive Metal Gear Online 2 but on PC.
Awesome, I'd love to finally play Folklore in 1080/60
-Skyrim- finally
It would be hilariously ironic if the console versions of Skyrim ran smoother than the PC version.
Maybe now I can get my mitts on all those PS3 exclusives that I wanted to play but couldn't way back when. Sorry Sony, but you couldn't keep me from my video games forever. 😈
Pretty amazing considering how even today people think the Cell processor is over-engineered. That said, what are the chances of a Xbox 360 emulator?
Imagine if we could do something like Smash Brawl and Dolphin where we revive Metal Gear Online 2 but on PC.
Once the OFW release of the revival server is released, then id imagine the process to get the game working through emulation by making it think its the original 1.00 version of MGS4 shouldnt be too difficult. Really, the main obstacle to overcome is making the emulator connect to the PSN. And with the original MGO, you can emulate that and connect online with people using the original PS2 hardware.
Holy shit you're right why wasn't that my first thought MGS4 WHEN
If MGS 4 emulation becomes playable, the entire MGS series will be playable on PC.
If MGS 4 emulation becomes playable, the entire MGS series will be playable on PC.
How's the state of PS2 emulation these days? Metal Gear games in particular are always notoriously difficult to emulate. [editline].[/editline] Y'know once this emulator matures further I wonder if it'd be better to emulate the PS2 or PS3 versions of MGS2 and MGS3.
I think MGS3 is playable these days, at least. The tricky part is the pressure-sensitive face buttons, though. It was required for aiming.
I played through MGS3 on a PS2 emulator twice, no problem. Performance is wonky though.
Can't wait to re-play the Resistance series on PC this time
I think MGS3 is playable these days, at least. The tricky part is the pressure-sensitive face buttons, though. Only issue is that if you increase the internal resolution it causes some weird overexposed blur to the whole thing.
it'll always be better to emulate the ps2 versions. the HD versions on ps3 suffer from many texture errors and lacking sfx
Wait really?
if this actually get even more support I should try looking into a blu-ray player for my pc to use ps3 disc but those are fucking expensive
Wait really?
it's most noticable during the shagohod chase and paying attention to the post processing overall. play the shagohod chase. pay attention things around you and on the floor as well. an egregious example to name one is the tank that gets toppled; it produces no sound whatsoever
The Last of Us on PC when
3 games I would love to be able to play again on PC; Demon's Souls, MGS4, and RDR. It's been such a long time since I played DeS.
Hopefully PS3 emulation will reach Dolphin levels where the games can run better than the original because some games (like this one) could use a performance boost in general.
