Rats don't have a footprint heavy enough to trigger regular landmines anyway. Otherwise it would be a massive waste of time to waste time on training a rat just to blow up 1 mine in an area filled with them.

Thats stupid, Even if the rat did trigger the landmine, the two people with the string would probably be caught in the blast anyway.

The rat isn't supposed to trigger the land mine, it's supposed to find it and show it by digging.
