I know this is old (2009), but I had not seen it before

Neither had I but I quite liked it. Nice visualization.
I do wonder what country made the drop and why at 2:10.
It could be the Soviet Union or another nation that was hit hard by Germany.
3:05 why does one of the countries suddenly just fuck up completely :v:
Having your average lifespan reduced to under 25 years will have needed quite something. I'm guessing Poland now that I think of it.
Amazing video, simple concept but really well done!

I'm assuming you're talking about the small blue one which drops to below 25 years, my guess is since it's the early 90s when it happened that it's Somalia
I remember watching this in school, it's really factual

My guess would be there was no data for that period or something, since it drops to well below the 25 year mark.

Could also be the Rwandan Genocide.

I do not think they would just drop a country. If they don't have data for a year (or however long) they just take the average from the year before and after.

Also confirms that the one that drops off in the 90s is Rwanda.
