Long story short, TJ Rotolo, voice actor of Frank West, is being replaced in Dead Rising 4 for no reason other than "We want a more Mature Frank" despite TJ and Frank being literally the same age.

Even if TJ came back, we'd still be stuck with a weird looking Frank, and a game that's a far departure from the original Dead Rising games.
From the leaked images, it looks like you can only carry 1 gun, 1 melee, and 1 throwable, unless each icon opens up into a slide out menu of some kind.
Honestly, the new actor sounds alright judging from the recent trailer.
It is way to late for them to replace a voice actor and not to mention expensive. The game comes out soon.

They did it with Hitman, just a couple months before release.
I signed the petition. I still don't see this happening simply because the new guy probably has all his lines done and Capcom wouldn't want to pay someone to do the lines they already have, but hey why not sign?
If Frank at least sounds like Frank, I can just put a servbot mask on and deal with it, but if he's just Frank in name only, I honestly will most likely never get it. All this advertisement of "Frank is back!", when the character shares none of the traits anymore just seems like a dumb move.

I don't mind the voice, it's the lines. They're so corny in a bad way. When Frank would make smartass quips they'd usually be retorts to someone insulting him or in a stressful situation and they were believable, like an actual person would say something like it.

The developers have responded to it but seem completely arrogant to the idea that changing him like this is a bad move.
Not buying the game at all even when it goes on sale if it's not at the very least the original voice actor, new dude sounds fucking awful. That's not Frank. That's Male American 01, not fuckin Frank West
Even if they bring TJ back, the written dialog is so cringe worthy that it pretty much destroys the character of Frank West. If you thought OTR destroyed his character (which I really don't think so), then just listen to some of the lines in the trailer and gameplay footage.
Not to mention we're pretty much 3 months from release, so I seriously doubt Capcom is suddenly going to have a change of heart and delay the game for how many months it takes TJ to re-dub all the lines in the game. Even then, as I stated, Frank's character is pretty much entirely different from how he was in DR1 and OTR, so even a change of voice probably wouldn't make most happy. Not to mention some aren't happy with how he looks, so even if we got TJ and changed the writing, people still wouldn't be pleased.
Basically, what a lot of people want Capcom to do right now is almost scrap the game entirely and start over, after spending millions of dollars and countless hours on it.
I think the most we might get out of this might be a "Young Frank DLC" at best, and that's being optimistic.
Personally, I'm willing to give the new Frank a chance before I really start whining about it. That is, if the game is even any good. I wasn't a fan of how DR3 looked and played, and this just looks like more of the same, only with nostalgia for the first game tacked on.

frank doesn't even have any one liners in the original. most of his retorts are just an expression and he doesn't say anything. he doesn't say anything wacky or intentionally funny. they keep writing frank like a goofier chuck and it's not his character at all.

I heard a rumor that Dead Rising 4 is actually just a movie in the Dead Rising universe. Could explain why Frank looks/sounds so different. The character we play as is just an actor in a Die Hard zombie type film.

Exactly, Frank was funny in an awkward way. It was charming because it was realistically goofy. The new Frank if wacky and wild and trying to be funny and it just falls flat
Apparently someone attacked one of the community managers on reddit about something (I'm assuming Frank) and here was his response:

I've posted angrily about how WB doesn't seem to understand Superman as a character or some minutia of how the Scarlet Witch's powers shouldn't have been changed when she was put in the MCU - or how changing it so that Magneto wasn't her father in the comics took something away from her (and Pietro's) character. Or how Bendis never did tell us what was in her closet from that issue of New Avengers....
