why couldn't they just be cool costumes and gear, why do they have to affect the fights? i hope there's a mode where gear doesn't change anything but aesthetically it still shows

True ability is decided in who has the shiniest cape and meta-build, after all.

I'm surprised more fighting games haven't experimented with player customization Only ones that I can think of are Injustice 2, Smash 4, and DBZ Budokai.
