Was uploaded in 2011, but it's just now starting to pick up attention
Although I wish him well I'm unsure how it'd be received... He'll always be "The Old Spice Guy" like Nick Cage is always just, well.. Nick Cage.

Well you can never break typecasting if you don't try
it is the only thing we have seen him in but it will help him grow as an actor to branch out

at least we'll know he'll smell good, even in troubling times.

True, and I hope he does. He seems very passionate about a possible Luke Cage/Powerman movie so that means he'll give it his all, which means a good movie.
I've never heard of Luke Cage.

Basically one of the only stand alone black comic book characters whose sole character trait isn't being black....
Sooorta...
Luke Cage was like 6'6 and massive in the comic books. old spice guy isn't big enough to physically fit the character
I like Luke Cage a lot. He's super cool, especially in his Heroes For Hire days.

Black Panther? Spawn? Blade?
I always kinda imagined Terry Crews playing Luke Cage. He's got the stature for it.
I'm pretty sure Isaiah would actually pay marvel to play as Luke Cage.
Black Panther? Spawn? Blade?
Black Panther is a guy with Black in his name who is an african king of a fictional tribal country in africa where it's an african tribe, with spears and shit. So... that doesn't really count.
Spawn isn't really mainstream, and neither is Blade.
i have heard of spawn and i have heard of blade but not luke cage
Black Panther? Spawn? Blade?
Although Blade's an alright example, Spawn's kind of in a strange place when talking about black superheroes considering that he's usually Freddy Krueger wearing Venom's symbiote instead of anything resembling a normal human.
And Black Panther's gone through some pretty dark eras where writers handled him as if being black was his primary character trait. Remember when Doctor Doom (A Romani, and although admittedly a huge asshole has a history of racial persecution rivaling I-actually-went-through-the-holocaust Magneto) was suddenly all about race supremacism when he showed up in Black Panther stories as an adversary? Because being Doctor Doom wasn't enough for Panther to not trust him?

People said the same about Tom Cruise and Jack Reacher but he absolutely killed it so.

Either way, a representative of Old Spice will be involved.
well no doubt he's probably being considered after this

Blade totally is.
Blade totally is.
Blade is a niche superhero, he basically only fights vampires, and has rarely been in any comics where he wasn't fighting vampires.
Danm is like Sam L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Please do this Marvel.

"Black Panther doesn't count because he's the leader of a peoples who are technologically inferior to my own, thus he doesn't count"
Wonder Woman is totally cool tho right

Blade is one of the most popular comic book heroes turned film heroes ever dude
not to mention Spawn has a MASSIVE following.
you very clearly are not a big comics dude, please do not speak on matters you are uneducated on
T'Challa, the current Black Panther, is the son of T'Chaka, the Black Panther before him and a descendant of Bashenga. Knowing that others would attempt to manipulate and dominate Wakanda for this rare and valuable resource, T'Chaka conceals his country from the outside world. He sells off minute amounts of the valuable vibranium while surreptitiously sending the country's best scholars to study abroad, consequently turning Wakanda into one of the world's most technologically advanced nations.
Wakanda was originally shown as a technological utopia, way ahead of most first world countries. Black Panther was one of the main characters who went against the stereotypes associated with African nations back in the 60's.

also green lantern, who's kinda black i guess, sometimes
Mmm, thank you, John Stewart was a good Green Lantern, Miles Morales (Ultimate Spiderman) is arguably better than Peter Parker as well
I don't think Luke Cage is going to be in any movies yet, but he will be in those Netflix miniseries' that Marvel are making.
John Stewart is funnily enough the one time where a studio refusing to have a black lead bit them in the ass, because the reaction to the Green Lantern movie from the audience they were desperately trying to capture was "why isn't he black".
It helps that nobody gives a shit about Hal Jordan.

They would have been much better off just casting Idris Elba as John Stewart and leaving it at that.
Black Panther has a cure to cancer he doesn't fucking share with anyone outside of Wakanda. Wakanda is technologically superior to pretty much every other place on Earth.
There is a reason they don't let outsiders into Wakanda.
Wasn't there one writer who kept/keeps/I don't read comics how would I know writing Black Panther as a huge mary sue and that's where stuff like "oh we cured cancer but we're not giving it to you because you're not good enough to deserve it or something" came from?
