Undertale has pretty much proven to me that most people who still use the term SJW are on the mental level of neanderthals. Also, related: (Undertale spoilers within)
since when was undertale an sjw game
please dont start with this shit again (was aimed at the 2 posts above, not the video.)
I find it interesting that Undertale won and it's inspiration Earthbound got knocked out fairly early. Not making judgments since I haven't played Undertale, just found it interesting.

This contest was basically perfectly timed for Undertale to win. And the more angry GameFAQ's got, the more people voted for Undertale for the sole purpose of pissing them off. And for those that don't know, part of the reason so many people got furious is that this poll had prizes for predicting the correct outcomes, and undertale's inclusion literally ruined 99% of gamefaq's predictions: and also this contest only happens once every five or so years, so some of them take it rather seriously lol
"oh no an undertale thread i don't like those" "better click on it"
god, the motto of so many bizarre people
I'll never forget GameFAQs losing their shit over a game. :dogchill: It was an abundant harvest of salt, I'll admit.
I never did see the official announcement by GameFAQ that Undertale won.
In that case the "tournament" is kind of flawed then. If they really wanted a "best game" poll then they should exclude games that came out in the past couple of years to prevent the hype-train effect. I think something that would be better, since this poll only happens once every couple of years is simply changing the poll to "best game in the past couple of years," since so often that these polls would just lead to Ocarina of Time or Final Fantasy 7 taking the win. It would keep the tournament fresh and the games would be on relatively equal playing field since they would all have their respective hype-trains.
since when was undertale an sjw game
It's a 2d pixel indie rpg with a lesbian relationship. Therefore it's worse than if Phil Fish was developing the next Gone Home, duh
I love these video game polls and the various internet communities going nuts over them. There was one where it's about the 'best video game villain of all time' hosted by Gamespot, which also had a big commotion here in Facepunch when it was posted. Gordon Freeman won the first poll on being the 'best video game hero of all time', and the 2nd poll had Dr. Breen for the villain poll. Breen lost about midway through against Gears of War's General Raam and people went nuts, and everyone else sorta went nuts when Darth Vader won the final poll lol
since when was undertale an sjw game
Let's be honest, it became an 'SJW Game' when Tumblr started liking it.
Let's be honest, since Tumblr started liking it.
But tumblr likes everything. That is a weird generalization.
Let's be honest, since Tumblr started liking it.
Nevermind, I get what you're saying.
But tumblr likes everything. That is a weird generalization.
Yeah, but the people who obsessively hate Tumblr don't usually tend to use or understand Tumblr. [editline]e[/editline] it's the same reason people hate Steven Universe for little to no reason and it's a 'sjw cartoon' or whatever it has [sp]like one gay couple[/sp] and a fandom on tumblr even though everything has a fandom on tumblr
since when was undertale an sjw game
Last I checked the highlight in Undertale for me was a Skeleton that loved making spaghetti and his brother skeleton that loved drinking Ketchup.

I go to a message board on GameFAQs that is full of both trolls and idiots, with little way to tell the difference. I'll bet at least one post from that board made it into the video. There was a guy who goes by "dio" that has like 20 banned accounts that bashed the game super hard despite never having played it. I still go to that message board because there are very few gaming message boards that you can just post whatever stupid shit you feel like without getting banned for "shitposting" (there's 4chan/8chan but that goes so fast anything I post will probably just get ignored)
I mainly go to GameFAQs for walkthroughs. Other than that, the site is toxic.
As an occasional GameFAQs user, I didn't expect to win guessing brackets. I use the daily polls to gauge the site's users, not as a general consensus for all the internet. Everyone on Gamefaqs knows it's biased as hell. I have no clue why people revel in Undertale's winning as if it's some sort of victory. So you've muddled the opinions of a small community with a bunch of outside votes, congratulations :goodjob:

A little. Not much, mind you.

Not surprising in the least. I don't see people tooting it around saying this raises the game up or anything.
Personally my problem with the Polls isn't Undertale but that the balancing is kind of unfair. logically older games would win, especially if they're stuff along the lines of Final Fantasy 7, Mario World, Ocarina of Time, ect. that and games could very often fade into obscurity the year they came out. so you're having very few games that's still in modern memory vs longtime veteran games. they may as well have specific tournaments: like most reviled games/liked game despite controversy (Sonic 06) or has a significant outcry (Mass Effect 3). or boil them down into years, since technology got better as time got by they probably have to boil it down to Pre-NES, NES-N64/Playstation/Sega, Dreamcast/Xbox/PS2/Gamecube, Wii/PS3/Xbox 360 then just split near-modern into Wii U/Xbox One/PS4 with a tierage specially catered to the modern years and possibly for new ports/remakes for later consoles. If voting was more interactive, probably be up for Indy battles or if a franchise is large enough maybe just mass spinoffs: Mario probably could fill whole brackets if it wanted, with Final Fantasy at a close second. It's a bit unfair to gauge the validity on how good a game is when it just came out a few months ago before the Polls were out. though that'd be splitting hairs since there's MGSV, Splatoon and Bayonetta 2 in there.
I mainly go to GameFAQs for walkthroughs. Other than that, the site is toxic.
I feel like that GameFAQs became largely irrelevant with the advent of user wikis and, more recently, Steam community guides. Between those two I have every resource I need for practically every game.
GameFaqs has some of the best guides out there. They go into the most detail and alot of passion is put into them. Wikis don't usually host guides, video has annoying letsplayers and Steams service is pretty much all meme guides or achievment guides.
