To be fair pretty much everyone has graphic settings to low because it runs so poorly.

It's a fun game and has a surprising amount of content for just having launched into early access, but if you can't live with ugly UI and shitty performance, I'd recommend you wait.
and by shitty performance, unbelievably shitty. when I first launched the game I expected it to be crap, but I didn't expect it to be so crap that I have to play all low just to get 40-60fps on a 780Ti. low looks incredibly bad as well. I can play it on medium at around 20-30 fps which looks alright, but it's far from okay.
game itself seems fun, but I haven't played it that much yet. I had fun the little I played, but the performance is just killing my drive to play this game.

You could refund it then re-buy later when the performance is better, because you may over time lose interest in the game altogether if its killing your drive now.

Except it will cost more later on.. But I do agree get a refund if the game isn't that fun for you.
