While I mostly disagree with him on his opinions about Rosalina's backstory, I completely forgot about the ending to the game. Spoilers, even though it's a 10 year old game- [sp]I never really picked up on the significance of the blackhole and the supernova. I thought it was just some of the closer planets getting wiped out, and all the new planets that were created were the ones that appeared in Galaxy 2. It never registered in my mind as a "Bowser destroyed the world, someone press the soft-reset button" situation.[/sp] In retrospect, that ending is kinda over the top and weird to think about in a Mario game. I still liked Rosalina's storybook since it was something to look forward to on the side of the main game.
Rosalina's storybook is fine. Even if you don't really care about it, it's a side thing and it doesn't unlock anything in the game, so you can completely ignore it and never go into the library if you don't want to deal with it. I remember replaying Galaxy a few years back, and it struck me how much of the game had little exploits left in where you could skip things or jump to sections that you'd normally need a sling star for. There are even bits where Luigi can skip the spring mushroom with a well timed triple jump and walljump.
