Pretty annoying how people were laughing in the second one
Bloody hell, that double standard - for the guy getting beat up, I can bet dollars to dimes they were all probably thinking "It's most likely his fault, I wonder what he did to deserve it" and not bothering to intervene.
Men can be abused too - I know someone who had this happen to him (had an arranged marriage with a woman who was a complete psycho). Showed up at our house in the wee hours of the morning one time with blood pouring from his head because she hurled a paperweight at him and he needed to get stitches. Oh, and the demented harpie tried to claim dowry harassment which, with our biased law of arresting someone until the charges are proven, fucked up his life as well.
Human beings can be violent, it shouldn't be discriminated on the basis of gender to choose a correct response.
Well this is what happens when "violence agasinst women" is exposed to people more than the other way around.

What about "Violence Against Everyone?"
ill admit i felt really angry about this
I predict a classic facepunch shitstorm coming
What about "Violence Against Everyone?"
Why not have a Violence Against Women and Violence Against Men?
Why not have a Violence Against Women and Violence Against Men?
Because then you're just making sides, you're making them seem like they're both two different types when in reality we're all human and we're fighting against the human urge of possession, not the Male and Female urges of possession.
Idk just something about identifying an extreme with it makes people uneasy. If you say Violence Against Women, most women will think "oh it's against the entirety of women," same for men, same for most. Plus you have to factor in gay relationships which can be abusive, some people get pissy if you identify them as male or female, etc. If we can come together, as humans and as one, maybe we can fix the problem.

It's easier for people to click with "Violence Against X" than it is to get a meaningful impact out of some cookie-cutter message of "be beautiful to everyone, whatever."
I think people would have stepped in for the guy if the woman weighed 100 more pounds than her counterpart..

Fun fact: Feminists fap to the second half of the vid, hehe.

I don't think there are any feminists around here. Probably a bunch of beta emasculated neckbeards, but certainly no crazy radical feminists.
I think if they replaced the woman with some huge Amazon girl and the dude with a short white guy then they may pull out a more serious reaction from the public. In both of these videos the dude looked like he was gonna snap the girls neck off, but when the woman was the aggressor, she acts out completely different; she was slappy, and pushy, loud (I admittedly wanted to laugh, which i feel pretty guilty about). The dude was mainly tanking through the abuse (in the second video), I only felt a bit of seriousness right at the end when the chick grabbed him by the jaw(in the first one). The dude on the other hand, he made the girl look so helpless, without having to do any of that, he just grabbed her by the face and completely restrained all her movement.
Im not trying to undermine the message of these videos, in fact I do agree completely that violence is violence, all Im saying is, that the dude didn't really appear helpless (like watch the second video the woman is hitting him and the guy is tanking through it, literally reminds me of my brother and sister fighting), so I didn't/wouldn't really take that event seriously. The Guy tho, is restraining the woman and preventing her from getting away, which is a big difference.
This is why I call myself a humanist instead of a feminist, even if I might agree with a lot of feminist ideas (not radical feminist ideas, mind you). Yes there is a lot of stupid shit that happens to women just for being women, but then there's stuff like the video shows.
I don't like that feminism puts things like domestic violence and rape against men on the backburner. We should be bringing every issue like this to light.
I don't call myself anything, really. Or, actually, I do, it's "not being an asshole to anyone". What they have between their thighs, or the color of their skin makes no difference to me, and it shouldn't make a difference.

If anything this video proves feminism's points even more: people on the streets perceived the that the women are too weak to significantly harm the man, while people assumed that the man was tough enough to take a beating from her.
The problem is that shit won't get done if we just said EVERYONE all the time.
In a perfect world where everyone needs or has the same rights, a movement like feminism or gay rights would be stupid, but it's not.
You didn't personally say this, so this isn't targeted at you, but if you somehow think that things like #YesAllWomen and videos like that google glass domestic abuse one are against men, you're absolutely dead-fucking-wrong. "Not all men" are abusive assoles, but that doesn't mean that all men aren't
responsible.

Doesn't sit well with their pro-women agenda. They'll never go for something like that. They'll always be a joke and will never be taken seriously by anyone.
They're like NPCs on a game. They don't make the rules, they will never change anything, as much as they think they do.
That's why the so-called "rape culture" is sensationalized bullshit that only mental midgets like them believe actually exist.

No they'd think it's funnier because she's fat.

So did I.
I will never be berated, physically and sexually abused by a qt 3.14. My life is terrible. What am I even doing with myself?
There's been a recent wave of women aimlessly standing up for women's rights on my facebook feed and it's been going overboard. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks OP!
Pro-women doesn't necessarily mean pro-equality.
Man, every time an issue like feminism is brought to bear on this board, it starts sliding into shitshow central doesn't it?
I am absolutely sure that any actual average feminist that actually exists would find the reactions in the latter half of this video equally unsettling, but how many times has something like that been said in a thread like this already? The folks around here who think all feminists are crazy radicals who want a double standard global matriarchy or some half-baked bullshit are still going to delude themselves with that notion at the end of the day.
This video shows a sad truth about the culture of many societies the globe over, and it is good to raise awareness of the problem and promote understanding as it always is, but people who take this and twist it into the same dumb stab at another equally important issue just miss the fucking point entirely.
Pro-women doesn't necessarily mean pro-equality.
"Pro-women" is not even a word, unless you'r referring to the abortion debate. I think that may be a term you guys have coined yourself
The problem these days is that sexism is nowhere near as institutionalized as it used to be, that in and of itself is a triumph, but there's still vestiges of sexism that remain in cultural upbringing and gender roles than invariably worm their way into an institutional environment. More to the point, the anti-feminism movement purposely or unknowingly makes it more difficult to deal with these issues
Some elements of sexism negatively effect men, but attacking feminism is not the approach to solving those problems. I guess it's just easier to attack feminsm than having to fix those problems
Imao..Too bad Violence Against Women and Men
qt 3.14.
sort of off the thread topic but what does this mean? i keep seeing it, especially in 4chan greentexts

Cutie pie.
Because, you see, pi is commonly shortened to 3.14.

How...do you even pull something like that out of your...
Your obfuscation doesn't change the fact that clearly put your points undermine themselves. Unless you believe that the (think Kant) liberal view of logic as trumping emotion in debate as radical (marx derived) feminists viewpoints do. But the issue with that is: With logic you can better keep track of your reasons, while emotions are the result of (often quick) subconscious calculations; thereby preventing you from being able to actually support your positions.
