So what are they trying to prove?
What about the gameplay though
Well, now I know which version of Watch_Dogs to buy, GTA+.
I think source engine is one of the few engines that can properly mirror everything in the world.
To be fair, it's kind of unacceptable that GTA IV did this 6 years ago on a past gen game.
What a fucking disappointment this game became.
People tends to forget that when GTAIV came out, it was virtually unplayable on the PC because of half the shit listed (and bad port). However kinda disappointed that W_D lacks a lot of shit from what a 6 year old game did, I mean dynamic shadows missing? Come on...

if i were the watch dog devs i would be so embarrassed
Damn I'm surprised by the amount of detail gta4 had that I missed.
I can't believe I was ever hyped for watch dogs. Silly me trusting ubisoft.
Oh god the last scene with fire hydrant on watch dogs is just abysmal. I mean if they don't have a technology to make it looks similar to GTA IV & V, just don't do it then imo.
Imagine if watch_dogs had come out in November when it was meant to originally. Embarrassing.
GTA IV set my standards for ragdoll physics and car damage in open world games like that The only games that have met those standards are other Rockstar games, pre determined car damage and Half Life 2 tier ragdoll physics are fucking garbage, its 2014, pull it together Even if GTA V was a little lighter on the ragdoll physics and car damage it was still leagues better than Saints Row, Just Cause, Sleeping Dogs etc etc

Maybe we'll see some future patches? Which still doesn't excuse the 'polished' state that the devs needed more time for.
To be fair, it's kind of unacceptable that GTA IV did this 6 years ago on a past gen game.
I don't see why that's "unacceptable". Prototype has ps2 graphics and I still had a blast with it. Graphics aren't everthing my god look at all the crybabies in this thread
I think that he's playing the game on low - I've never noticed any of these issues. edit: at least with lighting
Well saints row 2 was a much better game than gtaiv and it looked like ass.

I didn't realise prototype was advertised for being a next-gen game with brilliant graphics like in the E3 trailer silly me. oh yeah and call people in the thread crybabies as well, I'm sure they will agree with you now.

It should be the gold standard to be improved upon because it's pretty much unanimously the best that there's been (Aside from say, BeamNG, but that goes above the standard) GTA5 also did water really fucking well. I could almost smell the coast it was done so well. And it's not just because I live on the coast
to be fair rockstar has been doing open world modern cities much longer than ubisoft

I'm pretty sure the fact you have a whole city to hack was the main selling point of the game. The "brilliant graphics" hype-train is something people built up for themselves.
I can't believe I was ever hyped for watch dogs. Silly me trusting ubisoft.
Why don't we ever learn.
to be fair rockstar has been doing open world modern cities much longer than ubisoft
And they also have Endorphin. The only thing that really brings me back to GTA, and my favourite part about the recent rockstar games technology-wise.
Rockstar really know how to put that extra polish in a game. All their games have such little details in them that you would never even think about that make the environment so much more believable. I still think that GTA V feel more next gen than most other next gen games despite it being only on last gen consoles. It's hilarious how they make the big next gen games look poorly put together, as shown in that video.
tbh i thought the water looked much better on watchdogs. the GTA IV water looked a little syrupy.
to be fair rockstar has been doing open world modern cities much longer than ubisoft
IV was on a new engine so they had to do a lot of stuff from the ground up. And as others brought up they did some of this (I think some of this is PC only) 6 years ago on systems with 512 MB TOTAL RAM (including video RAM). Also Ubisoft is not a developer, they don't actually make games.
Did anyone happen to catch the build number of the leaked copy?
