Okay, seriously, that's awesome and all, but does nobody in the military care about the wasted ammo, or the fact that soldiers are discharging live rounds wildly into the desert?
I'm not against it, per se, but I'd think that anyone with any military seniority would see it as a major safety violation, misuse of military equipment, and a profound waste of potentially expensive munitions. It just astounds me that they let this sort of thing fly.

5.56 is not that expensive, Theres probably a set shooting range he's firing at, as you can see in the area around him theres been more rounds discharged as well.
Regular 5.56 costs about 50 cents a round, and this is military ammo so it's cheaper for them to make and buy.

A lot of these are when they have to get rid of ammunition thats past its date.
