It is from the developers of the Wargame series. Some screenshots here http://www.steeldivisiongame.com/

When do we get to bitch about some arty fucker sitting in spawn doing nothing. But this time we get to bitch at him in German

Is that the narrator from World in Conflict
Is that the narrator from World in Conflict
nah, WiC had Alec Baldwin who has a pretty recognizable voice kinda wish they had the guy that did the video narration in the earlier Wargame titles though, I liked him
So... Company of Wargame? I'll wait till there's a good bit of gameplay footage before I decide on weather I'm really interested, but Eugen is a good developer. They may have screwed the pooch with their last RTS Act of Aggression and it's initial release, but they get massive respect for admitting their game was flawed and put a lot of effort revamping large swaths of the game to make it better and you can't really say that about a lot of developers so I'm optimistic it'll be a RTS worth my time.
What are these games like? I don't know what to expect here.
What are these games like? I don't know what to expect here.
Very micromanagey. However if you get your footing you can have some really hectic and intense battles. Just watch your supply
What are these games like? to be fair, wargame played more or less the exact same as RUSE when it first came out so i doubt there'll be a change in gameplay mechanics now
After being dissapointed with the competitive/balancing-MP-centric nature that Wargame turned into (far away from a Close Combat or Steel Panthers), I can't be too optimistic about this game

I love base building, but a change of pace seems nice. I'll probably check this out when I get the chance.

I wonder if this will be more like RUSE then wargame. Cant wait for gameplay though
My biggest fear is that it treats artillery as nothing more than a nuisance, like in earlier Wargames. If I plop a 150mm shell onto someone's squad, I don't want the squad to just be "Oh No :c", i want them to blow up
considering the scale artillery is most like offmap, so no counterbattery or anything anymore
Why would it be offmap? Things like the M116 Howitzer and M2 Mortar played crucial roles in the US war effort, and would in no way could be represented "offmap". That'd be asinine

They offer a more credible damage model than Wargame.

Fuck a duck it looks like arty is some bullshit ~off map~ garbage
Fuck a duck it looks like arty is some bullshit ~off map~ garbage
I spot an M7 Priest, so maybe SPGs aren't offmap?
I imagine we will get SPG's but probably not towed artillery. I'm more interested deck building. From the sounds of things it looks like it's going to be more restricted.

Although this is going for a more smaller, tactical scale and I assume we'll have towed AT guns at the very least.
I couldn't get into Wargame because there's no in-depth tutorial and I got stomped by North Koreans as a result. Is there a Youtuber or someone who makes good videos about it that I can/should watch to get a better idea how to play properly?
So basically Ruse but without buildings? I mean hey that's fine with me, Ruse with a new playerbase and some updated graphics would be fucking excellent.
