My office still has a VHS rewinder (purpose-built for rewinding). It takes like 15 seconds to rewind the tape from the end, and it's actually kinda somewhat quiet. Definitely more so than fast-rewinding in the player.

I thought it was going to be some kind of 'proto-car". Where the cars we have now are DVD players and someform of transportation before cars is the vhs player.
