Horror movie and nah, I don't think they've stated where it sits in canon. I would just assume at this point unless there's returning cast members it's disconnected/doesn't matter. They're James Bonding/fairy tailing it in that way.

yeah.......ok......but why is this being made? i mean a horror in the Xmen universe sounds interesting, but this just seems to follow the generic horror formula to the point you might aswell not have it even in the xmen universe.
I'm torn. On one hand, I'm kinda excited because they're making a New Mutants film but at the same time, this trailer makes it look like a generic horror movie.
This makes me think they'd even show Darkchylde just for a cheap jump scare lol
Aa generic as this look I still appreciate Fox for taking risks with the superhero formula with stuff like Deadpool and Logan unlike Marvel.
So which characters are on screen here? Dani Moonstar is obviously front and center, identifiable with her bear necklace in various scenes, with Alice Braga as Dr. Cecila Reyes. I'm assuming the blond is Illyana Rasputin (and that the little blond girl is also Illyana, but in nightmare mode or somesuch.) Arya is Rahne I'm pretty sure, I assume regular white guy is Sam/Cannonball, and I think I saw another guy I assume is Roberto da Costa/Sunspot.

Yeah, Gifted is okay for now, but I'm curious to see how they're going to keep going in the long run. The current setup is not sustainable if they want to keep all their characters.
As for the New Mutants movie, I'm game, though it looks like they just made a low budget horror movie with the property. I'm hoping that's just how they're selling it to the masses and it'll have more power usage in the actual movie.
