I like how the music fades away into utter chaos and war
feel so bad for the employees not only are they forced to work on a holiday, but they have to deal with this human garbage
Black friday is the day you should stay away from stores. why do people even go to the stores, just order stuff online lol.
They think the stores have better deals but in reality, still cheaper to shop online :v:
How are people this insane. Chill the fuck out it': a god damn TV that': probably not even at a truly discounted price. No wonder Trump was elected president...
Retailers in Canada are trying to make Black Friday a thing, despite the weekend being nothing special in Canada. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck no.
Retailers in Canada are trying to make Black Friday a thing, despite the weekend being nothing special in Canada. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck no.
we already have boxing day too :dead:
I gotta go to work in an hour fuuuck
We have Black Friday down here in Belgium too, but no one seems to notice. There weren't any more people than usual.
Black Friday is becoming a thing here too. It's just that there's no actual sales on good things, and most of the stuff they advertise about it is just lies.
At work someone sat opposite me expressed great interest in Black Friday, checked out compost bins because grandparents wanted one for a christmas present. 70p off. Great deals. Mum told me the supermarket nearby was chocka so she decided on visiting tomorrow instead, we then found out the local council has a scheme for selling compost bins for £20 and half price if you buy two. Yeah, guess it's a remembrance day for everyone's wallets, store employees and watching national debt increase.
We have Black Friday down here in Belgium too, but no one seems to notice. There weren't any more people than usual.
We have "Black Friday" sales in Switzerland too, but nobody's going crazy. Maybe it's because it's only like 20% off.
Fuck black friday. All the stores do is raise the price some weeks before and drop them on the friday. Always boycotted it, since people behave like animals to buy junk they don't need. It's also pretty cannibalizing to the rest of the christmas shopping.
Black friday is the day you should stay away from stores. why do people even go to the stores, just order stuff online lol.
I picked up the $99 New 3DS at GameStop because it wasn't available anywhere else for me. There were only two and I got the last one just in time. It was actually pretty tame and I met some cool people.
This is why I'm a sole practicer of Cyber Mondays
The [sp]Vancouver Riot[/sp] caught me off guard there at the end.
I thought scenes like this were few and far between now. With the emphasis on online shopping and everything.
I haven't gone out to the stores today (for the obvious reasons) but checking up on the local traffic, even the heavy shopping centers look relatively normal for midday. Between people wising up to just shopping amazon, and stores pushing the early black friday thing (best buy opened for black friday yesterday at 5pm, but was also using BF prices for a lot of things as early as MONDAY. Got an xbox one S for the BF price; just no combo deal for a spare controller, didn't need it but that was like the one incentive to wait
Love BF practice in Russia & Belarus Like here, you take sd card which would generally cost 620 rubles, then write that it costs 1000 rubles, but because it's Black Friday you sell it for generous 680 rubles which seems like a good deal.

Half the stuff you buy here is 'on offer' because they put it in initially at far more than its worth, then after a week or two put a high discount for months so it looks good on stats and people think they are getting a good deal. Wines are a big offender too...Slap a fancy looking label on some ultra cheap wine, set initial price to be quite expensive then give it a 75% discount a few weeks later and watch it fly off the shelves, even though it probably is barely worth that 25% of its initial value. IIRC what you described happens fairly often on Steam too...Last year there were a few big names accused of jacking their prices up before sales.
What are we even thanking the Americans for? Nuking the japanese?
Pilgrims shared a meal with the Native Americans before genociding the shitfuck out of them or something
Pilgrims shared a meal with the Native Americans before genociding the shitfuck out of them or something
Its a celebration of the smallpox blankets that the European pilgrims traded with the natives in exchange for a yield of their crops.

I seriously hope those asda and tesco clips were from the one done back in 2013/2014 where it was being first done here because that was bad and people legit went mad back then. If it was from this year holy shit no one learned.
Black Fridays around me are pretty tame. But it's really only with smaller stores or stores that are focused on one thing, like electronics or gamestops and stuff. At our Best Buy we let people in 50 at a time and slowly cycled through people, and also had ticketing systems and stuff. It was busy and it was a bit tough to move around, but after awhile things were easy to get at and we had plenty of stock of the stuff people were looking for (other than the doorbusters and stuff like that new 3ds.) and I've only seen like 2 videos that are actually from this year that show people being crazy. great stuff! You can basically go fuck yourself at bigger stores like Walmart and Target and such. It's always a madhouse because lots of people just have no manners and the people in charge don't take action against it by using tickets or cycles or even a got-dang line. Also it depends on what neighborhood you shop at. Honestly I'm glad that Black Friday is starting to lose traction, and companies are finding less offensive-to-my-family-time moments to make money instead. We had a peak of Black Friday around like 2011-14 that thankfully died down due to internet sales, which will hopefully just make black fridays in the near future more or less just busy days. Stuff like the early black friday sales are actually really good for both the consumer (cause black friday is slowly becoming bad in the mind of the common consumer) and for companies cause it spreads out their revenue over the course of almost a month. thats just me being optimistic though. i know it's still a big money hole for these companies and i'll be well out of the retail business before they ever give up on black friday, but one can always be hopeful that they'll spend thanksgiving with their family.
Black friday is stupid They raise the base price and then put it on sale for either what it was at before or more expensive I've seen this for many things at the store I work at.The only items that would be exempt are probably the ones that were sent to us from the suppliers at a discounted price. The only good thing my store does on black friday is cover most of the tax.

I work at a big cozy corporate entity that wouldn't survive if they were caught doing such a thing, so I didn't see any of that. Also you're Canadian and I know how that whole economy thing goes.
Retailers in Canada are trying to make Black Friday a thing, despite the weekend being nothing special in Canada. Fuuuuuuuuuuuck no.
I walked to the mall near by yesterday, just to see the mayhem. This local mall can hold 5000 parked cars. FIVE. THOUSAND. It was ALL full. Finding a parking spot was literally like a scene in a TV show or something, where someone pulls out and it's immediately taken. I then went inside, and it was packed. Not shoulder to shoulder, but since I'm a fast walker, trying to get around people was insanely hard. Didn't see any fights or nothing tragic, there was lots of Security(I saw about 5 of them in my quick brief walk through the mall).
