I'm almost positive that's an urban legend or something dude. Shoes on power lines is just something dumb kids do when they're roaming about, we used to do it when our Vans got shredded enough.

that's just an urban legend, or maybe a region specific thing at best. we used to do it as a sort of sort of bullying tactic in my neighborhood. it's common practice among the working class to leave your shoes on the porch and we would exploit that by tying the laces and tossing them on the telephone wires. we would do it with old shredded shoes of ours too. it's just something "fun" that kids do when they don't have a nintendo to pass the time with
