I decided to try out vlogging, presenting a personal perspective piece about life in general as a freelance gamedev, dad & husband, how work affects personal life, stuff like that. I'm totally new to this and film it all on my phone so I'm sorry if it sucks. I'm getting a nice camera soon and I'd like to keep making videos, if you have any feedback I'd love to hear it. <3 Episode 1: Episode 2: Cheers!

I personally don't think you need a better camera, it looks crisp, clear and pretty damn good for a phone, I don't really look too much into phone cameras but damn it's good. I like the editing, it doesn't linger on scenes, and I really like how you put text up when giving context to something, like the story you and your brother had about Human Harvesting. Out of the ones you released so far, I like the way they are done after the first vlog, the first vlog just seemed to be you talking and while there isn't anything wrong with that, around 6 minutes of the 8 minute video is just that. That is all I got for feedback. Just a quick question, is it normal for work places to have Trick or Treating inside their buildings? Or is it just the way your work place does it/you planned it for the kids.

The lengthy monologue in the first one was definitely the chief complaint, so I'm trying to break things up more. I'm kinda on the fence about whether I wanna get a new camera, as you said my phone works decently enough, but having a dedicated vlogging camera so that I don't have to sweat my phone dying would be nicer, plus the audio would be better, as I'd likely get a shotgun mic to go with it. I still don't really know what I'm doing with this/how often I'm going to do it. I tried cutting one for when my product released on the UE4 marketplace, and I actually recorded a bunch of footage, but I ended up not having time to edit it between my day job and my developer stuff, and then it felt pointless to cut a vlog with week-old footage. I think for now I'll stick to vlogging when something major is happening, i.e. holidays, more major events, etc. I'd like to be able to do like weekly ones or something but editing these takes waaaaaaaaay longer than I'd care to admit. Thanks for checking it out!
Oh and yeah, in some places it's pretty normal for businesses to let kids come in to trick or treat, just depends on the business. Most fast food places, minute marts, some grocery/department stores, do it. I work for a financial institution that allows for staff members family to come "behind the scenes" to get more candy as long as they're behaving. For non-employee kids they can still come up to the counter and get candy as well, though that's not as common of an occurrence.
keep vlogging. you seem legitimate and authentic and that is great.

Not a formal vlog episode, but I've been burnt out by all the inauguration drama, so I made a video of my daughter's adorable baby laugh.
