this is really well made but montage parodies are so overdone that i don't find any of them funny anymore

It's not about making montage parodies for the sake of it, it's actually taking a life of its own. Montage parodies are the next YTPs.

to each their own, but the tongue in cheek nature of the video doesnt excuse the fact that it's the same three hitmarker-dew-dubstep punchline seen in every other similiar video. a life of its own would be giving it too much credit. it's the reanimated remains of a joke parodying something that fell out a long time ago more like hitmarker in cheek LOL

These are only hilarious when they get clever. I loved the way AncientReality mixed videos of himself into his montages, that always managed to crack me up.

We're both overthinking this. I'm guessing the guy has lot of fun doing these videos and a lot of people enjoy the humor (as cheap as it is) so there's no reason for him to stop until he can't find the motivation to continue. I'm sure a lot of people have repeatedly said over the years that YTPs were overdone and dead but they're still alive and well today. I'd argue that Montage parodies will stick around for a while because it has a lot of similar elements to YTPs. Like I said, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't think YTPs or Montage parodies are sophisticated works of arts, but they don't need to be. You probably just don't like this type of humor enough to tolerate some of the more repeated elements but for me it still somehow remains funny.

I think montage parodies are just a parody of themselves at this point and that's what makes them funny to me.
