I think the substitution of Human sexual partners with machines will happen, at some scale, because Humans tend to create things they want, if they have the means of doing so.
I do not think machines will completely satisfy the companionship Humans require from sexual partners, if the human is aware that the machine is indeed a machine.

That's one of the great goals of computer science: create an AI that passes the Turing test so we can make robot hookers.
This could work once they pass the uncanny valley.
I feel sorry for the guy that has to clean up the robots when the customer is finished.
