I just got Playstation Move today and I gave it a try. It's really fun and entertaining, perfect for birthdays or parties. Especially this Start the Party game, which I'll definetely buy.
Here's a demostration of 2 mods that are available in the demo.

Here's an extra Start the Party mode, that I missed:

Also Heavy Rain footage, including me:

Is it really 1:1?
Is it really 1:1?
Yes. There's maybe a split second of a delay, but it's doesn't really bother you. It's still very precise and very fun. Even if I hide the light, it still gets some track of it. I'm trying out different demos now, but Start the Party was probably the most fun for me. Heavy Rain is next. (Even though I already completed it)
I already tried Kung Fu Rider, Sports Champion, The Shoot, TV Superstar, Eyepet Move Edition, Tumble and ofcourse Start The Party.
The only letdown was The Shoot, because there was no cursor and it was really hard to shoot stuff. Maybe I didn't calibrate it well.
I have heard that about The Shoot too, I cancelled my pre-order on Play, going to buy it instore on Friday. Can't wait :D
looks reaaally smooth, and so real
So much expensive shit for a rehash of EyeToy?!
:/
Holding out for Kinect.
(Although I'm sure Heavy Rain would be amazing with it.)

It's not really expensive. I got it half the price of a normal PS3 game. Kinect is 4 times expensive.
Don't wanna start a flamewar, just saying that it's not really expensive.
Yeah but with Kinect you have a one time fixed price. Move is obviously made for runaway accesory sales. First you get the camre, then the controller, then another controller, then some attachment, then another attachment, then another controller etc. Before you know it you've paid much more than you would have for Kinect.

Hahahahahahahaha
Kinect is a piece of horse shit that will flop like fuck. At least the Move has buttons and potential for shooters and other actual games. Not stupid casual "hit the ball and tickle skittles" crap.

I hear the Kinect is a load of horse bullocks tied to a 200$ price tag.

does the move have an analog stick
if=yes
cool
if=no
completely useless load of horse bullocks
Woo buttons, amazing technology. Even the "stupid casual" shit for Kinect looks amazing imho. Can't wait to see what more serious developers do with it. Like Molyneux and Milo.
While I'm sure Heavy Rain and shooters would be nice with this, this demo looked like total ass. There's also the question if anything will ever even come out for it. Even the Wii barely uses it's potential even though the wiimote is standard.
It's not so much a question that comes up with Microsoft.

Actually, I got a bundle with Playstation camera, Move controller and a couple of demos for only 50€/65$.
(At first, they said it will be 99.99$)
Now I will probably buy another controller for 2 player games and "Start the party". It won't be nearly the same price as kinect, much cheaper. And you will still need to buy games for Kinect.(If you're the "buying games" type on the Xbox ofcourse)

You can buy an extra Move Controller with analog stick on it. It's cheaper than actual Move Controller. This is what I mean:

And btw, I tried Heavy Rain with Move. Incredible experience. You literally have to swing to punch someone or dodge. So awesome.
Coming from a non fanboy perspective in the long run PS Move has the upper hand, the games on Kinect will end up gimmicky like the Wii where as with the Move you have controllers making developers options a lot larger and better when it comes to games.
Plus it is also a lot cheaper.
Don't turn this shit into a fucking console war.
Don't like the Move, then do one.

That's because they don't exactly have the right target audiance and the developers know that. Let alone the technology isn't good enough to make decent games.

It has a second optional controller which you can use instead of your sixaxis. Honestly I am just going to use my sixaxis.
Honestly I am just going to use my sixaxis.
I tried it with Heavy Rain and it's not really hard, since you only need the left side of sixaxis. It's just kinda ankward.
Wow, that looked a lot better than I thought. It really looks like it is 1:1 and it actually looked like he was holding a brush. Kudos to Sony for doing it right! But I will wait and try it for myself.

Don't get your hopes up. When I was in America I got to try it. It is utter shit. I am not saying this because I own a PS3. (I had a 360 before) I was just.. so bad. Felt incomplete and like it needed at least 1-2 more years of development time. When I jumped it took the game about two seconds to realize that I had jumped. Which is pretty bad since the game was all about timing..
Shit. It took me a few seconds to realise the bat wasn't real. I thought it was an accessory or something.
I may actually get this.
WOW it's so fluid. I'm seriously considering buying a ps3 biw
The Move will always be far more accurate than the Kinect, while it may not seem as 'sleek' to use a controller over a 'hands free' approach.
Kinect does alot of scans of surfaces infront of it per second, and commits them as rough models, but therein lies the problem.
It will be very dependent on environment, lighting, even down to what you are wearing, to establish an accurate simulation. Whereas the Move only depends on the built in technology of the controllers.
I have both consoles, have tried both concepts, and the Move wins hands down, it isn't the gimmick that the Kinect is. That tech needs atleast another 2 years of solid work on it to make it marketable.
I'll make some more demos, if you guys would like. Maybe Heavy Rain or Sports Champion.
Eyetoy all over again.
It seems to be pretty accurate at least.

gogo wanna see more.
By far the fastest and best motion tracking device I've seen.

I'm buying this.

Did you buy the Starter pack? I want to know if it feels gimped using 1 move compared to 2. Also do you have the sub controller? Worth getting?
I would love to see some Sports, without all the bullshit most other videos have, of people playing the same thing for 15 minutes, change it up a bit.

Please! I really want to see.

Seriously? Are you that blind?
I'm trying to figure it out, how to record myself and the game. For now, I'll just record a game only, tomorrow I'll try something else.
-snip-
Try a style of recording like this guy

Seems to work ok, and occasionally just film the game, cut between the two.

Wow can you be any more of a rabid fanboy
HMM A THREAD ABOUT MOVE MAYBE I SHOULD MAKE A POST HOW KINECT IS WAY BETTER VERY GOOD IDEA
Not to mention Molyneux has ruined everything he has touched in recent years, promises the world, leaves you with a peanut. And Milo is just a pedophiles fantasy, what are you going to do with it? Ask him how his day went? I can tell you the answer 'Nothing, because I'm not real, now go get some real friends, nerd!'.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
