Someone is going to get paralyzed.
I can't stop laughing at this. These people are going to kill themselves. The partswhere they almost drop iton their heads is too much.
Why do people vouch for Crossfit It's such a bullshit "routine"
why aren't they stopping them when they hang it on their abs completely incompetent instructors if you can't get to the 'clean' phase the weight you really shouldn't be trying clean and jerk with that weight at all
First of all, I'm surprised how much some of these people can lift. Secondly, I'm no expert but I was few times (very few unfortunately) to gym. Guys who had more experience showed me the proper way to lift stuff and I'm pretty sure none of the people in the video did it right. They risk some serious back pains. If they don't drop the weights on their head first.
The way they snake their back looks horrible if they don't nail it it would just collapse it seems.
snap city bitch snap snap city
i find lifting with your back much easier than fucking around with your just about everything.
I threw my whole back out just watching this.

They're iron plates covered in rubber, each weight is designed to be equal in size to the rest. Helps prevent wreckage upon dropping.
my dad watched this video and said that the main problem isn't the weight but the fact that these bars are way too wide for the lifts they are doing. these bars are meant to train grip. the people lifting aren't necessarily using bad form because they don't know how to lift they are using bad form because they can't get a proper grip on the bar.
If they don't know which bars to use, then they don't know how to lift.
sorry i meant to say they might know proper form but be unable to use the proper form due to using the wrong bar. [editline]31st October 2013[/editline] and if they can't get a proper grip of the bar and it's causing them to use improper form they should have just stopped attempting the lift rather than risking serious injury.
watching the guy at 2:20 makes me cringe
i find lifting with your back much easier than fucking around with your just about everything.
You mean when you're doing back exercises, right?
Why do people vouch for Crossfit It's such a bullshit "routine"
There's nothing inherently wrong with crossfit as far as I can tell, it's just shit coaches not teaching proper fucking form. When done properly, the exercises used in crossfit are totally fine. A clean and jerk is a perfectly fine movement when taught properly. These people were never taught properly.
Mixed grip cleans? Who taught them that shit, it doesn't even make any physical sense. If you're going to be lobbing the bar onto your shoulders with your elbows flared out in front, what the fuck are you doing with one hand the wrong way.
crossfit is such disgusting filth and i always advise people not to do it.
whats with the grip? one hand over, one under. im by no means an avid weight lifter. i do a little when im in the gym to stay in shape, but that just looks totally unnatural and clumsy.
whats with the grip? one hand over, one under. im by no means an avid weight lifter. i do a little when im in the gym to stay in shape, but that just looks totally unnatural and clumsy.
it's a common deadlifting grip to help with gripping the bar, but they're doing some form of horrendous clean and jerk where that grip shouldn't be used. And the amount of pressure they put on their back is just horrendous, if they went any heavier they will have back problems. this is what they should be taught

Maybe I should. But for this, it's ridiculous. They have to do this dangerous switch halfway through which leaves all the weight in one hand.

im okay with crossfit teaching c&j, but what the hell why start with deadlift mixed grip and then switch to double overhand like, literally halfway through? also what's with those bumper plates, are they just to make people think they're strong or something

Not as much pressure on the heavier plates. We have them at my gym, except they are color coded. Orange ones are 50kgs. Respect to the guys who load up 6 of them.

You can search on youtube for the likes of Elliot Hulse and Derek Poundstone using the over-under grip for axle cleans.

I live in Albany, this does not surprise me.
i have no idea what they are doing wrong, though i do strongly oppose exercise, especially weight lifting
