I don't see how this is possible, unless Amazon got a shipment from Canon that was robbed and replaced with a shit ton of rocks and bricks
Makes sense since its an expensive ass camera

Well thats what he says in the video, seems amazon will be investigating.

One of the big scams is to order an expensive item from amazon, replace the contents with a brick then return it within the return period. They sometimes don't check the item after it's been returned before sending it out again.

Quite a few options. Theft happening at the amazon warehouse itself. Theft occurring during transport from Canon to Amazon (or any stops inbetween) or the return scam that Mattk50 above me specified (Common. Has gotten publicity before.)

It's either that or it's someone from the local post office / logistics depot or delivery company.
I hope the SSD I ordered doesn't end up being a floor tile. :worried:
So I actually work at an amazon FC. And I know that its probably not theft from the actual warehouse itself, because amazon are super secure when it comes to having anything metal on you. They dont even let us have our phones because maybe we went in without an iphone x and we left with one.
Its probably people returning them, and since theres little inspection on any employees part, the rocks probably sat there for a few months before a picker finally picked it, figured it was just a heavy camera in a box, and sent it off.
He bought them new right? I don't like that Amazon will sell an item that was returned as "new" without even inspecting what's inside the box.
Well, least he hasn't hit rock bottom yet until he gets a box of gravel...

This is a common issue. My company ordered around 100 SSDs and around half of them were just wood tiles. However they were not ordered off amazon.
It was interesting to say the least and many employees still joke about it.

The opposite happened to me, I ordered one 750 evo and got a box of ten. I got to keep them too.
I miss the days of old YouTube where this video would be like 2 minutes long.

I've only refunded one thing, a steam cleaner (the stupid cap got stuck)
I was almost scared at how instant the refund is. You pretty much get it the moment it ships, that actually seemed a bit weird to me.

People pull stunts like this on my company's eBay store and it's really fucking pathetic. Buyers are scum.
He bought them new right? I don't like that Amazon will sell an item that was returned as "new" without even inspecting what's inside the box.
They don't do this. Any items returned can never be sold "new" by Amazon. The best Amazon can do is stick them back on the Amazon Warehouse section of their site, and sell it at a heavy discount.
A seller also wouldn't do this, as funds gained from selling an item are held for 30 days. After that, you get your money. So if the seller was doing this, they're pretty much shooting themselves in the foot.
This is faker than shit. Co2w is one of the worst motovloggers in the community, I can't stand the guy. Not to mention the box is already opened when he "opens" it in the video.

If you look at the box, it's an Amazon warehouse deals taped box. So it was already opened prior to shipment (and him opening it prior to filming). The whole thing reeks of "GIMME VIEWS". You can even see the tape on the bottom of the box is split too.
[t]https://imgur.com/AAagomn.jpg[/t]
I thought that about the tape as well, it seemed like it had been carefully cut open.
I didn't notice the warehouse deal thing already, noice. Amazon doesn't strike me as the sort of company that would fuck up twice in a row, especially on such an expensive item. I once had a £100 pressure cooker get lost in transit: it showed up as delivered at my local pickup location, but the people at the pickup were adamant there was nothing there for me. I contacted Amazon, they were really helpful, sent me out a brand new one for the next day but insisted it be delivered to my personal address instead of that pickup location. They did an investigation into the problem as well, and I've now noticed that the pickup location hasn't showed up on available options a week or so after that incident.
Chaseon2wheels is just a giant bitch, always has been. I follow a lot of motovloggers and this guy consistently bitches about shit, causes drama, and is just overall a super annoying person. This is just another stunt.

Chase is an idiot, but it would be strange of him to do something like this. He never seemed like a thief, or at the very least wouldn't be dumb enough to pull something like this and record it. Then again he is kind of an idiot.
anything for them views, gimme gimme

After the adpocalypse, people reach really far for those views and clicks - and him being one of the crappiest motovloggers on the platform gives me little faith to his honesty regarding this situation.
mystery solved now can we get an answer to the next greatest mystery who broke this guys nose??

I mean, anyone who would try this would realize that publicizing it and doing it a second time would definitely bring a greater level of scrutiny. It seems odd and this shit is a pretty common scam in India, to the point where shenanigans like this forced Amazon and Flipkart to either stop delivering to one state entirely or change their policy regarding sending high-end electronics there.

At first glance, even with my bias against Co2w, I thought the same thing. I figured it was an issue on Canon's side, one of their distribution center employees stealing product and filling boxes with other material. But him being shady with the packaging, and his previous history of being a liar and a drama queen, I'm pretty damn skeptical that this is 100% real.
And while I hate to say it... a lot of motovloggers aren't the brightest birds in the tree, save for guys like SubD and BakerXDerek who are very careful about what they upload and concealing their identities.

Either way, even with his astonishing lack of foresight if he was faking this, I don't think he quite understands that Amazon can really shit on him for blaming them for this fuckup, wasting their money and time, not to mention trying to con them out of 10k worth of merch (assuming he actually got both cameras and the first time wasn't a dud either).
As an aside, when shipping high value items like this, isn't there any sort of option to ensure signature on delivery, i.e. handed to someone personally? I had a 2,000 Gaming laptop sent to a hotel in Vegas for a conference and authorized the hotel staff to sign for it (which is how they were able to claim it and keep it in their storage for me to pick up when I landed). Seems odd that you'd just send a 6k USD camera through regular old Amazon Prime for any potential porch pirate to fuck over (unless he clipped that part out of the video). Because if that were the case, there'd be an extensive roster of who handled that package all the way, so tampering narrows it down substantially.

Sure, there's sign on delivery, but if it goes FedEx or UPS you can call with the tracking number and ask to hold on location or disregard signature.
But Amazon, being such a large, multi-billion dollar company, could care less about $12k worth of cameras going awol. That's chump change. I'm sure he actually got the camera the first time, and has been filming these videos about not receiving them to get views. Chances are Amazon was never even involved, it's not like he SHOWED us the chats with them. Hell, in the first video where he "got rocks" instead of bricks, we never even see an Amazon box. Chances are the one in this video is the same damn box he originally received with the actual product.

Ooh boy, it'd be sure terrible if....someone were to contact Amazon and let them know their boy's been talking smack about them and could use some 'assistance', though. It'd force him to call his bluff because Amazon could pretty much clear everything up on their side in an instant and could (potentially) go after him for defamation (I don't know if this is the right term or not, considering he's holding Amazon accountable for all of this and has already made a claim that they gave him 20 bucks and a month's worth of free prime, which is also easily traceable on their end). If they wanted to, of course.
Should be entertaining either way. :smug:

I'm tempted to myself. Not to mention the claim of $20 Amazon credit and 1 month of free Prime seems like a load of shit to me. If a customer genuinely received a box of rocks for a $6k product, they'd get a hell of a lot more in compensation, Amazon's customer service is top notch and he's making them sound like Verizon-tier crap.
[editline]25th February 2018[/editline]
To further my point about him trying to get views... typically he gets 20k-40k on average per vid. This one got 204k, and his first one was above average at 51k. If it sells, keep doing it.
