When I found my first slime, it jumped into a pool of lava as soon as it saw me. :saddowns:
I think the reason you can't kill (the smaller) slimes is because they are clientside. If you disconnect and reconnect they should be gone

I actually like the slimes
it's the only thing that could possibly force you to abandon a mine.

that glitch has been fixed as of 1.4
