MEGA MAN MEGA MAN
"RIDIN' ON CARS!"
Yeah Lemons!
Roll didn't deserve such abuse.
Goddamn, I grew up on this game. X is the most memorable series for me out of all of Mega Man. My brother, who was better at games than myself at the time, couldn't beat Sigma's final form. Years later, I did it before he did and even found out Sigma had a weakness. It felt great to finish this game after so many years, and ahead of my bro as well. Too bad the Maverick Hunter X remakes got cancelled after the first one.
I would die for a Mega Man X9, but seeing as how Capcom is treating the Mega Man franchise nowadays, I'm having doubt that they actually care for what the fans want.
Egoraptor always pleases.
egoraptor is simply a genius
Sequelitis are definitely among my favourite videos by him.
I feel like I've learnt everything I need about game design from this video.

Megaman Legends 3 canceled on the 3DS, making a new Monster Hunter for 3DS with it's control scheme? It's just a complete mess.
God damn I love Mega Man X
Think about every single good game you've played. You'll find that they all use the same learning mechanics as Megaman X- They environment funnels you towards your objective, it doesn't force you. The obstacles are there to point out their weakness, they don't have a huge fucking arrow pointing at a WEAKNESS sign. Fuck, every single Valve in-game commentary is full of these things.
Goddamn, that was funny. How come I've never heard of this before. I knew Egoraptor, but not that he does that kinda stuff.
I played Megaman X5 on my PS1(which is broken) and X8 on my PS2(which is broken) Finished X8 but never finished X5 since I was a wee little boy back then.I loved the Megaman games.I hope capcom makes a new one

It's not perfect (X6 had Jap voices in even its US release; there were attempts to re-dub it into English, but Capcom pulled that and now X Collection's version has no cutscene voiceovers at all), but it does its job well otherwise.

His Sequelitis videos are the best. THE BEST.
I feel like I've learnt everything I need about game design from this video.
It's interest because some of the stuff he talked about, specifically leading the player to learn new things without expressly telling them, seems to be very present in valve games. At least when you do the developer commentary playthroughs they talk about a lot of similar things. Especially in portal (in fact portal pulls this kind of stuff off in an INCREDIBLY masterful fashion, considering the wide array of techniques that you need to learn throughout the game). Even when it comes to getting a player to look in the proper direction, like the player rarely looks up so they have to prompt them with stuff like vertical lines.
