I agree with the points but god damn the animation is terrible and corny.
These points were over exaggerated and not realistic to what it really is.
Talk about a fine line between anti-theism and atheism :/

Oh yeah because only a fedora wearing antitheist could possibly be against the idea of threatening people with eternal torture...

Hahaha, that is EXACTLY the conversation the title made me think of.
Lady "That is so messed up!"
Matt "*Laughing* Yeah! That 'logic stuff's' a real kicker ain't it?"
~~~~~~~
Matt "I'm surprised she didn't come down with the vapors. Sorry we offended your Victorian sensibilities! Give it to theists to put stock into the magical power of WORDS."
This is great although I honestly don't think you can get any point across without a massive struggle to a very religious Christian, they act as if they've learnt everything is to know and if something doesn't fit with what they say well...You're wrong and they'll always be right because it's they read it in a "holy" book
I was born into a deeply religious family and I spent most of my younger life involved in church one way or another. But through growing up, and learning from what's around, I just can't sit down and believe there is some God far far away out there, either sending us to heaven or hell.
I just think those people just believe what they've been taught and are told to never question it, and to beware of people who question it because they'll be working with the devil and thinking for yourself which is what we've been taught to to our whole lives but one special thing is excluded and that's religion. Why those people never question their religion or even think about an event in the bible and think like for example Jesus parting the red sea.
The Israelites seemed to be trapped. Mountains stood on one side, the Red Sea in front of them. When they saw Pharaoh's soldiers coming, they were terrified. Grumbling against God and Moses, they said they would rather be slaves again than die in the desert.
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exodus 14:13-14, NIV)
The angel of God, in a pillar of cloud, stood between the people and the Egyptians, protecting the Hebrews. Then Moses stretched his hand out over the sea. The Lord caused a strong east wind to blow all night, parting the waters and turning the sea floor into dry land.
How come that hasn't happened ever? How come we've seen plenty of crazy rulers in countries where people have to flee and yet not once have we ever seen God come to the rescue and help all those struggling people?
It's just funny how people can't get their head around there being no God. It's like there so much evidence right in front of us just showing how much he isn't there and how alone we are and yet people just try and turn around and go well all of this is happening because God is "angry" with us.
If anything, I wish I could believe there was a God here because if there was, things would be a lot easier and we wouldn't even have to do anything, just listen to God. That would be great but it's actually just all up to us to help each other out and fix ourselves, not cry out to the sky to something that's never even been there.
The old testament is more than a series of stories describing things that God did, there is a conceivable narrative throughout and it ties into the new testament narrative as well. The idea that we should experience the miracles of the old testament is not a classical Christian view and has unfortunately erupted from less than cautious theology(and that is certainly sugar coating it).
The old testament can be summed up as God's establishment and preservation of Jewish culture in the ancient near east in preparation for his incarnation, the Christ. Each and every miracle is not the status quo for how God operates, but a very specific course of action depending on the context.
God did not help the Jews in fleeing from the pharaoh's army by parting the waters because he wanted to save them from oppression. In fact at other points in the old testaments God openly allows other nations to take over and oppress the Jews. The parting of the Red Sea was not only meant to preserve Jewish culture from being eradicated, it was to strike fear into the hearts of Egypt and the surrounding nations that the God of the Jews was not someone to be messed with(such as when Rahab told the Israelite spies in Jericho that the whole city was melting in fear at the news of what their God had done to the Egyptians) and to show the Jews themselves that only in God were they safe(as Passover was created after the Jews' passing over the Red Sea).
Now, that is not to say that the oppression of people is something that God wants, simply that the main motivation behind this miracle in question was not to release the Jews from oppression.
That's complicated when listening to God is literally impossible, which would be what Christianity teaches.
Too bad the animation reminds me of christian propaganda.
