I think Jordan Peterson, the moderator, and Theryn Meyer were really great in this! Really should get the moderator for the Presidential debates.
10:52 "NY City for example recognizes 31 such gender expressions. *goes on to list them*... pangender, queergender, gender fluid, crossdresser, bigender, GENDER-BLENDER, and the list goes on..." I was not prepared for that last one lmfao. edit: Peterson was endlessly dunking on this debate. He pretty much called out everything that was gonna be said before it was said. Nicholas the bald guy is tumblr incarnate. He's just spewing out dumb shit [biological sex doesn't exist & not using someone's preferred pronouns is ABUSE]. All he did was prove Peterson's point more and more.

My partner had him as a prof, he's pretty swell. A bit intense, but in a good way. I'm glad I'm graduating U of T though, the social justice crowd there is completely out of control.
It's so weird seeing Jordan Peterson blow up in the news because of social justice drama. I started watching his lectures on Youtube years ago (they're great lectures, I deffo recommend them) because I liked his talk about religion, mythology and psychology. Everyone is talking about him like he's either a crusader for free speech or a stubborn bigot when I still think of him as the guy that made me think about Jung and Eliade.
SJWs aren't real guys. It's scary seeing how this movement is gaining traction so fast. Peterson is doing great work but ultimately it won't matter in preventing this nonsense. Ironically that bald guy oozes privilege and smugness.
The fact that people like Nicolas Matte is allowed to lecture is absurd.

why does the bald guy with glasses keep using the word "learning", is he autistic
Which side? SJW or anti sjw?
I know it's playing the middle ground but honestly I've found both really detestable and think it's one area where horseshoe theory actually kind of works. Very extreme "SJWs" and anti-SJWs have just seemed utterly incapable of listening to each-other and are chock-full of intellectual dishonesty. I lean towards "SJW" if you must, and even support things like non-binary people but I try to avoid supporting narrative over facts. Though I haven't watched this video yet, I plan to and peterson's original video. Reading over the bill he's talking about though.... it looks to be a very moderate piece of legislation that I can't really see any obvious problems with. It's not like that fucked up new york bill.

Only crazy stupid jerks and good people. If you were to classify people only according to their behavior, this would be very apparent. For me there is no middle ground.

It's not like that fucked up new york bill.
It's mainly the interpretation of the bill that has dangers to it. It could be interpreted as if someone refuses to address someone else using their preferred pronoun, which is anything from the regular he/she to ridiculous ones such as the xes and xirs, it can be considered hate speech under the criminal code. Proof that it could be interpreted this way is Peterson got a letter from his place of work (University of Toronto) telling him to stop after he made a few lecture videos on his personal youtube channel criticising the bill and its repercussions. I'm all for rights for trans-people, but this bill defines gender identity and expression very badly because nobody knows what it actually is and legislation that leaves holes like this has no place in law. Here's the second reading which gives the definition of "Gender Expression" at 2:27 which includes "use of pronouns".
why does the bald guy with glasses keep using the word "learning", is he autistic
Because he's condescendingly implying that everyone who disagrees with his viewpoints is simply uneducated, is my guess.
baldie is the physical manifestation of Tumblr
baldie is the physical manifestation of Tumblr
If there was a Tumblr university, he would be the dean.
Jordan Peterson wins at 51:00
Just look at that expression on his face when captain tumblr shoots "are you open to learning?" across his bow. That's the look of righteous contempt and utter bewilderment at the same time. What a perfect illustration of today's academia
