i always liked his videos, the animations are really nice
[editline]31st August 2013[/editline]
i like the little continuous story he's got going on too
That was really well made
I'm not the only one who finds these cringeworthy and overhyped, right?
There's like a million of them now.
but I haven't even seen anything to hype this video up
the only way you'd even so much as to hype would be to be activ- wait,
ah
nonetheless a decent video, an interesting take on the uh.. style of minecraft, some parts seemed somewhat poorly animated (particularly fighting).
I cringed.

Cringworthy? Maybe, your opinion obviously. Overhyped? Hardly, there is next to no hype at all, they're just released. And I guess about five or so equals a million now. There are like ten videos in his songs playlist, about half of them being remixes or behind the scenes. I don't hardly play Minecraft anymore, but I think these are pretty quality and enjoyable.
I've never like TryHardNinja's singing
smart idea naming it "Take back the night" after all the well deserved hype Timberlake is getting.
infact i seen "take back the night" for the title and thought that it was about Timberlake's music video.
I like the animation. The singing's decent but the lyrics are just incredibly lacking. Not due to their writer or anything but just because it's fucken minecraft, not exactly a treasure trove for emotional song subjects. I think if it had some decent voice actors instead of a tacked on modern pop song it would be a lot better.
MinceCraft Music videos?
just...what
Most of sparklez music videos are decent, but the lyrics and singing make me stop listening. I know he and others put weeks or months of effort into it but it seems like all the lyrics are forced and really painful.
His earlier Minecraft Videos were better. I'm not a fan of his work, but some of them were really well made.
Like the Fallen Kingdom video, that one was pretty good.
Am I the only one who thinks a that Minecraft would be better if it was actually like these videos?
Netherspread coming out of Nether Portals, giant rock golems, Herobrine boss, etc.
The storyboard didn't match the music at all.
Besides that, I pretty much turned down my volume and just watch it for the animation.
Animation was fantastic, the music was poo.

I just noticed this was a continuation off of the Fallen Kingdom video. Neat.
terrible song, terrible video

why would anyone think making a minecraft music video would ever be a remotely good idea
terrible song, terrible video

because it is a good idea with a decent audience
[editline]31st August 2013[/editline]
to everyone rating me dumb on that, prove to me that there isnt an audience behind it
Looks like Qi learned about the rating tools.
Cute.
stop whining about ratings holy shit
the only people these videos appeal to are 13 year old kids who scream over this fucking game
I'm not a big fan of the music but I liked the animation and the little story he's got going. Minecraft would be much more interesting if it had something like that in the base game. Also, it'd be griefable as hell, but physics like that would be awesome (if impractical).
Why did this remind me so much of Star Wars?
Anyway, great animation.
Who animates this? If it's sparklez, why doesn't he ditch the whole music video thing and just make a web series using that animation? It'd be decent, and a much better use of the animation talent than this.
two things that this makes me feel
1) that if minecraft was anything like his videos, it might actually be worth playing now
2) this animation talent is utterly wasted on minecraft
So that was the first time I've ever felt the urge to watch any of his stuff, and only because people said the animation was good.
They were right. The music is fucking awfully generic, doesn't fit at all, and the animation has no flow with the music. Dropping the whole music video aspect of this, and making an acted story would work so much better than this currently does.
The animation seemed a bit clumsy in places, but I expect some of that may be due to the models being mostly blocks. Why on earth he continues making music videos when the animation is clearly the strong point I don't know.
while i have to admit the video was incredibly well made and the music was also pretty good (the vocals honestly ruined it for me but the actual music itself was great) i'm just having the hardest time taking the medium he used seriously.
Minecraft has that affect on me, even when i watch these complex creations in videos like working ALU's i just have the hardest time actually taking them seriously.

Slamacow animates it, he has his own channel with his own content using his animation.
Sparklez just kinda publishes it and doesn't contribute otherwise.
