The second amendment(right to bear arms) was made because people had to hunt for their food, and some people in the military were minutemen and needed a gun at home. They are practically unrelated to each other. They both have two different reasons to be in the constitution. If we take away the first amendment rights, then people would get arrested for criticism of certain individuals, being a certain religion, etc.
