So? Greedo wasn't fighting alongside stormtroopers in giant battles. The whole game is essentially DICE bullshitting with canon, so they might as well add someone interesting instead of scraping the bottom of the barrel for characters that got at most 5 minutes of movie screen time.

They probably only added the two new 'heroes' because they had the pre-existing heads for both of those races in the awful and limited character customization. All they had to do was repurpose or make new bodies and make souped-up special soldiers that probably sling unique quotes - if even that.

ahsoka was mid clone wars, while greedo actually was a character in the timeframe of the original trilogy
like sure he was a weird choice but i dont think its a stretch to have him around
but yeah jerk that hateboner some more, i remember when doing this kind of thing with the canon was fun
I think of it like this.
Battlefront is a toy box but it's only toys from the OT era. I've got a toy box of PT era stuff somewhere but I keep it separate.
I wouldn't be surprised for that final DLC expansion pack to be Rebels and Rogue One inspired though.
Rogue One, maybe. But I can't see them doing Rebels. If they can't be bothered to even make heroes that aren't just re-using head models, I can't imagine them wanting to go through the concept process of turning cartoon characters into real life people.

The final DLC pack is Death Star themed, so perhaps some Rogue One stuff.

The funny thing is, they used LucasFilm archive assets as reference, so the Rodian and Sullustan heads they used for the Rebels are probably made from scans of Greedo and Nien Nunb's masks.

Maybe it's just me but I think hero characters should be heroes. Nien Nunb you can argue as he was the co-pilot who blew up the second Death Star, but Greedo? He's a two-bit thug who got merc'd in a bar, what a hero.
I'm glad that Rebels seems to be going the way of Clone Wars, getting slowly better after a shaky first season. Ezra's still pretty annoying, but the actual story is getting sort of interesting.

IIRC in the stupid original EU Greedo slowly developed into a really important guy like every character that appeared for about five seconds in the OT
But really, the reason he's here is because he's from a famous scene in the movie and not because he's actually important. Battlefront namedrops "star wars fantasy fulfillment" pretty dang often.

hes an iconic character regardless of his actual involvement of the film
he's a 'bad guy', he goes on the bad guy side

To think she was the most annoying thing in the Star Wars canon since the CGI film and season 1. Now she's the best apprentice a Jedi could have, and a damn developed character at that. This is gonna hurt so much when Vader and her clash. :cry:
If Anakin had not fallen, or something prevented the fall of the Jedi, Ahsoka probably would have came back I think, or if she had not left, would have been a great knight.

If Greedo was a joke hero added on top of the already large list of heroes then sure.
As it stands, they added Greedo as a meaningful feature as part of their first wave of post-release content, which makes it seem like they're already scrapping the bottom of the barrel not even half a year after the game came out.
