They didnt really show how fucked up the actual rescue attempt was. If I remember correctly they actually had a tank firing into the school while hostages where still inside.
I have never heard about this until now. That's so fucked up. I'm glad they got a lot of them out alive though.
Only 766 hostages of 1100 were rescued. That's not exactly a lot.
Fucking chechen "freedom fighters". Only dirtbags would take over a bloody school full of children.
FYI theres another very good documentary about this sickening terrorist attack, mostly from the point of view of the children involved.

You can tell how much their lives were affected.
I highly recommend for you to watch all six parts.

The point is that "they" (the security forces) didn't get a lot of them out alive at all. Somewhere there was a mistake that led to an explosion and then the hostages fled of their own accord. This is one of the worst hostage situations in history.
I remember this. I think I saw a documentary on it, too. Because they weren't given any food or water I think were forced to drink their on pee. And I'm not saying this as a joke. Imagine you are held hostage surrounded by bombs and you aren't given any food and to stay alive you have to drink your own urine. You also have to realize most of the hostages were kids so I only hope all of them who survived recovered both physically and mentally from experience like this.

3/4ths. It's on the right side of half.

Unfortunately, I really doubt this.
Also, fuck theres alot of guys in civilian clothing with rifles in that video.

You never know what to expect from Muslim extremists.
So in this case saving around 60% was a success.

Well yeah, but clearly they made mistakes that most likely resulted into a worse outcome.
Wow, I remember reading about this. Dayum.

They are fighting for a land, so them being Muslim doesn't have anything to do with this.
They are fighting for a land, so them being Muslim doesn't have anything to do with this.
If they where not religiously influenced I highly doubt they would have assaulted a school and fired on children. They where Islamic Militants, that used their religious beliefs to justify what they where doing.
I agree on the fact that they where fighting over land but religion did have a major influence over what was done.

The assault on the school was in no way a success. As I stated before they where fucking tanks firing into the building while hostages where still inside.

I thought one of teh bombs the terrorists had detonated prematurely
I thought one of teh bombs the terrorists had detonated prematurely
yeh exactly. a mistake that led to the hostages running free, while many hundreds were killed. that is not a successful hostage rescue mission at all
I remember this and the media shock it caused.
I recall following this live on Sky News. Heartbreaking shit.
Fuck muslims. And they wonder why nobody likes them.
Did I just read that correctly?
Sadly, yes.
You know I remember wathcing that, well all I can say is that is was a terribile massacre and the consquences of that caused a lot of problems for South Russia.

Muslim extremists*
Im sorry, but are you really that dumb?
186 children were killed. This was a completely FUCKED rescue attempt.
Facts you probably didn’t know about Beslan: Male terrorists would bring young girls to a room where they would repeatedly rape them day and night while forcing the hostages to hear their screams.
Facts you probably didn't know about Beslan: A terrorist repeatedly stabbed an 11 month old baby in the face before beheading him.

Those terrorists fucking triggered the bombs and killed those people, how to blame the police/army for this!?
Fuck muslims. And they wonder why nobody likes them.
Last year's Norway attacks were carried out by a Christian extremist who shot 69 children
Only 766 hostages of 1100 were rescued. That's not exactly a lot.
Better than them all dying...
[editline]28th January 2012[/editline]
Also, OPs video, 27 seconds in look at the guy on the left sights. Lol he's going for that super long distance kill apparently.

probably could have responded faster.
probably could have responded faster.
But really what can you do?
That whole ordeal was bound to end in tragedy no matter what route was taken.
