Looks like shit. CG looks really bad.
CG is never final in trailers. Just keep it in mind, but yeah, it definitely looks weak.
Boy, I thought nobody could beat Hobbit 3 in terms of CGI, guess I was wrong.
It looks like the kinda movie I'd watch on Netflix with some friends, Idunno.
I don't understand why they didn't go full CG like the game trailers. The pre-release clips for the film just look jarring to me with the combination of live action. I guess it might be cheaper to shoot live and then composite CG, but still.
As a Warcraft fan, I gotta say I'm pretty meh. It looks like it'll be a decent movie with good bones, but the acting/CGI is going to kind of make or break this, I feel. I'm not hyped up for it at all really, so at worst I'll be mildly disappointed if it's a major flop.
I've put my fair share of 10k+ hours into WoW and the only thing that'd make me see this is travis fimmel.
If it was full CG on the other hand i'd be looking forward to it. I personally hate CG / Real life mix but it might be because the effects look kinda bad in this, but we'll see.
christ that thumbnail looks disgusting
lmao how did they manage to make a cgi character look like he was filmed in front of a green screen

(it's more obvious when in motion)
Still pretty sure it will look better when it releases
I remember the James Bond trailer looked like shit but was alright when it came out
The Warcraft art style translates like shit to real actors.
Having a mix of both? Makes it even worse.

Everything about this scene looks horrible

I will never get over how dumb the Shrek baby looks
Who's working on the practical effects? those armor pieces look like plastic

Because it's a Shrek baby, not a baby Shrek:

gee they really should've toned down the orcs instead of using the same proportions as the games
The thing is Blizzard are probably one of the best CGI makers out there, nearly all of their game trailers/cinematics are amazing, even going back as far as warcraft 3
This really does seem sub par for them, I can't help but wonder if they outsourced it some how

It's a bit exciting about Warcraft having a proper movie, but it looks like shit, and they could've choose a way more interesting setting than this.

To be fair, making a full feature length movie with WoW's cinematic quality would be ludicrously expensive.

Blizzard's cinematic team does nothing but make those too. Three minute cinematic take them between 1 or two years. They're still refining their method, and getting faster at it. A full movie in their CG quality would take at least four years to make and be really expensive.
This mix just looks terrible though.
As much as I love the director, I'm finding it harder and harder to see this movie working on any level the more footage I see from it. I hope it somehow doesn't bomb cause damn that'd probably ruin his career.
"to save our people" scene is literally vomit worthy.
Who's working on the practical effects? those armor pieces look like plastic
The armor is CG as well, superimposed over mocap suits. Pretty much everything in the movie is digital, other than the human actor's faces.
I really don't think the armor is CGI. They've shown off the armor at events before. But I do agree they look very plastic.
But honestly... CGI still has months to get better. And I really doubt the movie is going to go down in history for the acting itself; it's going to be the scenery and action scenes that sells this movie, let's be real.

It's not shrek, it's chris metzen
Honestly, compared to CGI in recent years the CGI isn't that bad.
I dunno, to me it looks like it could be good.
Glad to see I'm not the only one.
Ya'll be screaming now but i bet the end result is actually quite good.
