The whole cutscene thing could easily be solved by putting an option somewhere in the menu(s) that is a "view last cutscene" button. Unfortunately, after all these years, it's a little old having to watch people in Half-Life 2 have a conversation. Maybe a small button prompt in the corner?

Just press a button and you're put into the spot where you're teleported outside his window.

However you might also argue that there are methods in place to avoid that section if you don't want to see it again - either by quicksaving after that opening, or just starting from Route Kanal at the title screen. I'm so glad this episode's going down well. Currently it's hit 301 views, but instead of simply trickling to that level, it's at the YouTube "Whoa, loads of views here" barricade. I'm excited as anything!
