Oh my god.
Why am I not surprised it's Pitchford and Gearbox of all people that still can't leave Gamergate 6 feet in the ground where it all belongs.
Wow, ignoring the gamergate shit that was just a terrible song in general.
The man that brought you classics like Colonial Marines, Duke Nukem Forever, and Borderlands 2.

don't forget battleborn
Sure Randy, keep giving me reasons to not buy borderlands 3 or duke nukem. I'll just put it in the corner with the tons of other reasons you've already given.

And now Bazinga Nukem 3D for the low price of $20 bucks and a piece of your soul for a game you already have plus some levels

Borderlands 2 was good, and Gearbox didn't make DNF.
But everything after Borderlands 2, sure.
BBC: MAN COMMITS LIVE CAREER SUICIDE INFRONT OF AUDIENCE
Randy literally ripped off a skit by David "Gruber" Allen with this. It was such a bizarre thing to watch, because I saw Gruber open for a live show 7-8 years ago, and always had the song kicking around in the back of my head. When Randy shouted out Gruber and started talking about Buddhists, I was like "No...he wouldn't...oh my dear god..."
The original song:

Compare it to whatever the fuck Randy just did in front of a live audience.
Edit: Now that I think of it, I was even thinking about the song this morning on my drive into work. I'm fucking scared. It's like an omen or something.
what a mess he made
when it all went wrong
I wonder how much a kick in the balls it was for Randy that it turned out those "bigots" were actually right.

Another thing: everyone says the Sonic 25th Anniversary Livestream Party was "cringey" but this was actually a bit unbearable to watch.

Duke franchise literally right now.

Why do you think he's singing the song in first place?
The man that brought you classics like Colonial Marines, Duke Nukem Forever, and Borderlands 2.
Gearbox only cleaned up DNF, the majority of the game was done by 3D Realms.
Gearbox only cleaned up DNF, the majority of the game was done by 3D Realms.
I'd like to think that too, but it's obvious that almost 90% of the game is gearbox writing interspersed with the old map structure that was left.
"I mean, i can take a joke. I own Duke Nukem."
You got offended over a joke less offensive than anything in the entire Duke Nukem Franchise.
I think the best part about all this shit with Randy Pitchford is that the shit he's complaining about is entirely his fault.
If he's tired of people bringing up Aliens: Colonial Marines, instead of maybe just ignoring them, he blasts them about "how wrong they are" or "how much the game sold, so it was obviously a success." And instead of ignoring the GG comments, he blasts them which only makes him look like even more of an asshole and only serves to fuel the fire he's apparently trying to fight?
I just don't really get why people still support Gearbox as a company. I'm sure they probably have some talented devs (even though a lot of them are essentially new bloods), but their shady business practices and almost complete disregard of legit criticism that are fully backed by Pitchford himself are just atrocious. They did some decent work in the past, but post Borderlands, they've been constantly going down the shitter.
Randy Pitchford makes the likes of Peter Molyneaux (or Sean Murray if that's your thing) look downright trustworthy in comparison. At least those two have some sort of passion for the games they make, instead of just for the potential amount of money they'll make.
God, I actually felt physical pain from this.
Looks like he wants the Bioware fanbase that hides behind social justice and uses LGBTQ people as shields to protect them legitimate criticism

No you just don't want to believe 3D Realms can do him wrong.

But then he goes and has Duke Nukem 3D released which has half naked women, bloody violence and shit.
It makes him a hypocrit.

broteam once told a story that randy pitchford told him that zoe quinn was "scum"
so it's weird that he does a 180 and starts going on about gamergate now after zoe quinn gets exposed for being a rotten person in the crash override leaks
it's fine
don't forget battleborn
What those characters from Skyrim?
I adore that, back in the day, Pitchford lambasted Steam as a service that took advantage of little developers, while at the same time actively crushing a tiny studio with a lack of funds while they tried to put together the absolute mess that was Colonial Marines
didn't randy have an imaginary fight with the duke nukem twitter that he owns?

I can't tell if Randy's completely aware of how shitty he is, or if he just got a random intern to set it up to show how "tough" he is (and fail miserably).
My guess is Gearbox is just trying to rip off the ridiculously smug Sonic Twitter.
'Sing it with me!'
Followed by complete silence.
I don't even know where to begin. How do you get your head so far up your own ass that you, in some weird attempt to deflect criticism, explain how you got offended by a tweet live on stage at a game expo and then sing a song about bigotry that doesn't even actually talk about bigotry but just repeats the really vague and kinda confused phrase "Nobody like a bigot unless he's cryin'?" Like, does that even qualify as a joke? "Oh no, no, no I'm not the head of a games dev that has a terrible track record of fucking over other devs and customers alike, no! I'm the messianic bringer of goodwill and equality that's going to save the games industry with my shitty overpriced re-release of a 20 year old game!" The time you wasted crying over what someone else said on Twitter should've been spent actually trying to convince people why they should fucking buy your product because at this point all anyone is convinced of is that you're no longer the captain of your own mind, and that you have terrible taste in clothes jesus christ. "I own Duke Nukem?" Yeah, you do, and it's a fucking tragedy that you got your grubby hands on it or any other franchise.
I hate you Randy Pitchford, I hate you and your stupid shirt and I hope that somewhere out there someone in power makes the decision that you're a toxic manchild that should be kept as far away from any game development project that has a significant sum of money attached to it.
God, Randy. Borderlands 2 is honestly one of my favorite video games and I even have an essay half-written defending it. And now he does this?
Totally entitled to his opinion, but certainly insulting at least some of his audience is a little bit of a bad idea.
