I want to start making Minecraft commentary videos and also record the script for future flash movies. Does anyone know any good microphones to buy? IT needs to be a plug-it-into the computer mike.
Uh not really the right forum, this would be something more suited for fast threads.

There are many different microphones, but good ones generally don't plug into a 1/8''. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] Also: I was taught formally about microphones and recording equipment, so if you have any questions about any specific microphone characteristics you are looking at, you can give me a PM and I will help you out.
Also, don't do minecraft commentary videos, there's enough around

That's something I would expect from a $20 mic or a headset, not from a $75 microphone.

But I think this page has a frequency response graph.. maybe. I really just based my decision on reading reviews, and finding audio quality samples.

I'm a sound guy at heart, so where you might be more concerned about, say, the FPS of your recording programs, or whatever else video guys worry about, I'm concerned about stuff like self noise and frequency response since they make a huge difference in sound fidelity.

All of that is important stuff. It's just not stuff that I know a lot about, yet. I probably should have consulted someone who was more well versed in sound than I before I bought it, but... I didn't.

You probably got one of the top-of-the-line microphones you can get that will interface with USB. My offer extends to you as well. If you have any questions about technicals about recording, post-production, or specs on audio equipment, I can help you out. I've been taught all this stuff and I don't want to let it all go to waste.

If you have any tips on balancing audio in post, that would be great. Thorn in my side.

You can normalize with any DAW including audacity and it will set the audio levels to a certain specification. You just gotta be careful since you will end up losing some fidelity from bit depth loss, so recording at the highest level possible(without clipping) is generally encouraged.

Sounds good. [editline]22nd June 2012[/editline] I realized I didn't put the steam link in right, it's fixed now.
Any suggestions for brands?
