I used to watch the hell out of this show because I love anything with an ignored deep dark lore and some non kids show stuff often thrown in. Now I watch Steven Universe to fill that need, but I miss AT. It's too bad it sucks now aperently.

Not sure if you mean "apparently this was bad the entire time" when you say that, but hey, if you want to watch it again, I wouldn't let the video nor other people's opinion stop you from doing so.
I still enjoy Adventure Time for the most part but season 6 had so many "wow they've really put this in an episode?" moments I question how long my enjoyment of it will last. Season 6 just seemed much weirder/darker/stupider than past seasons, and not in the usual weird/dark/stupid Adventure Time way. I wonder if they had a new team of writers or something.
It is weird to me that people even discuss the seasons of a kids show

It's weird to me that there exists an entire forum dedicated to ice chewing discussion.
People will like what they like.

I was just assuming from watching this video that the more recent episodes were no good. I stopped at around "Jake the Brick" for no real reason other than that I lose interest in stuff sometimes. I'll probably catch up one late night.
Is Regular Show still on/good? That was pretty much the only CN show I watched, and it was worth it. Never got into AT, SU, Gumball or anything of their other programming.
Last thing I heard was a movie was coming out or something.

Funnily enough I stopped watching around that time as well. I heard that season 7 was alright but I've just had no desire to really go back to the show.

The movie came out last year, and they're going to start the 8th and final season of the series pretty soon.
Check out Steven Universe too. If you can get past the awful fanbase it's probably the best animated show on TV right now outside of Rick and Morty.
but there is barely any overreaching plot and most episodes are self-contained so why would you talk about it like its a HBO drama?
[editline]10th September 2016[/editline]
and anyway why do you immediately assume I'm criticizing adults for watching kids shows? Is it because you are insecure? Is it because you are an actual man-child?

There's a lot of connected plot? Did you watch the video, all the arm stuff they talk about goes on for a bunch of episodes. And it's still broken up into seasons on Hulu etc. so why would people not refer to it in that way?
it just seems weird to me

That's some pathetic attempt at bait.
Can you guys please not start shit, we're not even [del]15[/del] 20 posts in.
its a good thing anime, the superior animated medium, doesn't have seasons

is this bait? am i being trolled right now? are you flaming me? are you coming on to me?
I just state my opinion and everyone goes apeshit and apparently that makes me a deliberate instigator

and in this thread from a safe distance, you may observe the rare species of the Cannibal Troll, thriving in its natural habitat. Unfortunately when other trolls are absent it is unable to fulfill its cannibal function, and reverts to regular trolling.

not sure how you can bash people liking a kids show while putting something like anime, which is more frowned upon to like, on a pedestal.
also they are the exact same medium. 2d animations.
its a good thing anime, the superior animated medium, doesn't have seasons
lmao here we go
The only kids cartoon that i outright adored was Gravity Falls. But that's probably because it had a overarching story that ended satisfyingly before people could milk the shit out of it.

You said
why do you immediately assume I'm criticizing adults for watching kids shows
People "assume" because you literally said
It is weird to me that people even discuss the seasons of a kids show
So yes you are implying that adults talking about or being interested in a kids show is inherently a negative thing.
Why are people seriously replying to obvious bait.

All of these videos are over series Jello actually likes anyways so it's not like he's trying to discourage people from watching them or saying it sucks. Just poking fun at their faults.

actually it got back to being good.
actually it got back to being good.
Dunno what other people are talking about, it's been pretty consistent throughout it's run, IMO.
Adventure Time basically started (arguably popularized) this new golden age of story focused cartoons with a ton of attention to continuity and character development. That being said, being the first has its downsides. Where other shows have come and changed the formula and done their own thing, Adventure Time has remained stagnant. And so, other shows have surpassed it. Greatly.
Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Rick and Morty and many more... They are just better.
I wouldn't even go that far. Adventure Time started out as a goofy little show with a unique world and interesting characters with no real plot from episode to episode, then they tried to force it in over time, at least that's how I see it.
The first few seasons carry out a lot like Rick and Morty does (coincidence?), funny episodes that elude to a bigger plot but can be watched on their own and you don't have to worry about the bigger picture. It's when they tried to drag things out and attempted to give everything a deeper meaning is when the show fell flat for me but hey, that's just my opinion.
Thankfully Justin Roiland saw this and actually made it work in Rick and Morty.
I stopped watching Adventure Time as soon as season 4 or 5 ended. Same thing goes to Regular Show.

Regular Show should have been an Adult Swim series to begin with. It was just meant to be.

Would have been nice. :frown:
Hit the nail on the head. This show is bad

I watched that with my nephew and I got real into the plot yeah, did not expect it to have that kind of thing honestly
Hold up this show is still going? I remember discussing it during high school four years ago and around that time season 3/4 were about to air.
I never watched much past the first season, has it really become that stale?
