Holy shit, that's fucking Ork Dakkah-tier. Now if only he could make a semi-auto version of it. :v:
instead of blowing away a home intruder, blow away the entire front half of your home with him
instead of blowing away a home intruder, blow away the entire front half of your home with him
I imagined someone doing that while also wearing pirate outfit, parrot sitting on shoulder, then going yarr haarrr and blowing some shithead away.
it looks like a gun from quake
"Status: NOT a firearm"
How does that happen? Is this somehow outside the legal definition because it's so big? Genuinely curious.
Looks more like artillery to me

looking at the video it doesn't fit the ATF's definition of a shotgun nor the definition of a "weapon made from a shotgun" since in the original configuration it has a barrel length of under 18" with an overall length of over 26" It fits the '68 GCA's definition of a firearm but not the '86 NFA's definition of an NFA item nor an AOW item therefor if I'm correct it sits in the same legal situation as the mossberg shockwave/ remington TAC-14 /B.A.T. DT series

And this is why I'm content with just having an SKS shit gets too retarded lol
Can someone explain the notation to me, so if 1ga is this big, is 12ga actually like .12 or something but everyone calls it a 12 gauge?

Bigger the number, smaller the barrel size.

welcome to the ATF where the rules don't make sense and no pupper is safe if you're confused
Gauges have something to do with the number of projectiles that equal a weight within the barrel's diameter and is more closely related to cannons than gun calibers. This thing is a punt gun for sure

Smaller the gauge, the larger the caliber.
Welcome to American guns, where we determine round size by oughts, gauges, calibers, inches, and how many grains of black powder it has.

To get gauges, you take the diameter of the barrel then divide that by 2, then multiply that by how many big macs you've had in the past week. After that sacrifice a goat, and the blood loosed from it should display the gauge of that weapon.
I like the American units for guns, they sound cooler. Not that I have any idea what that shit means.
Also, I just realized how much I want to see the Slowmo Guys contact Boris, and get videos of this and the shovel AK firing. :v:

If me memory serves me right, Gauge is measured in the number of solid lead spheres that fit the bore of the firearm that add up to a single pound, so e.x a 1ga shotgun is basically shooting 1lb lead spheres.

Somehow I don't think they'd want to associate with the homemade firearm community.

Caliber is literally just inch diameter written in decimal points. 50 caliber = half an inch. IT's probably the most logical imperial unit measure of a firearm you'll ever find.
Lever guns get kinda wierd, though. .45/70 Government is a commonly sought large lever-gun round. .45 caliber projectile, and it was made for the US Government(One of the first repeating rifles they got IIRC). I forget what /70 means, might be the powder load in grains. And then to throw a huge wrench in the works we use metric measure as frequently as we do our own units!

In full the caliber is .45-70-405. .45 inch bore, 70 black powder grain charge, 405 grain lead bullet.

Why?
Can someone link me this shovel AK? His channel seems to be full of similarly named videos with camera video file names as titles.

Shovel AK on North East Shooters. It's fairly picture heavy, but it's without a doubt one of the coolest builds I have seen in a fairly long time. Its the reason why you pretty much see all of the survival games like Rust with an AK that has a shovel handle stock.

I'm surprised at how well that suspension spring helped with the recoil, I still expected a stumble backwards
Forgotten Weapons did a wonderful explanation of what gauge and bore mean in his video detailing a custom-made 2-bore double rifle, which is a slightly smaller projectile than what that monstrosity fires (~1.3 vs ~1.6 in), and is still completely, utterly impractical. And it comes with a pistol, because wrists are for wimps

1-bore means that a spherical lead projectile the diameter of that barrel weighs one pound. Common shotguns use 16 or 20 bore, which would translate to one sixteenth or one twentieth of a pound.
This thing in terms of practicality would be best used for knocking down the walls of a fortification or firing caustic explosives at defenders.
Defenders such as Janissaries, knights, etc.
This is what the homemade weapons in Fallout 4 should have looked like
The problem is that most videogame developers seem to lack the technical know-how to make proper weapons. One case I still chuckle about is when the developers for Metro 2033, were showed up by a fan in a competition for weapons that could be built in post-apoc.

The reality is that videogame devs really need too hire weapon/gunsmith consultants or at least have someone build the weapons they put in their videogames, and take technical details and such from actual live firing tests.

On the other hand, having your game design choices to only favor weapons that could only work in the real world is pretty limiting. It's a common choice of whether to design a game to be fun or to be realistic. Sometimes they're the same thing, but a lot of times it isn't.
Once you take out the question of "could this weapon design work in reality?" then suddenly you have limited creative freedom to work with. Sure, they should look towards real guns for reference from time to time, but to take data from actual firing tests? That's pretty much a simulator at this point.
Look at CS:GO, for example. The weapons are based off real weapons but the technical details of each of them are made very different from reality for the sake of its gameplay.

So is a 0 gauge infinitely large?
So is a 0 gauge infinitely large?
An Ork can dream.
"While a 0 gauge is impossible, some theoretical physicists believe it may be possible to approach 99.99% the size of a 0 gauge barrel."
