It's a pre-alpha gameplay video, but really brings back memories:
According to egodbout2, The Curse of Tristram will be a free game mod for StarCraft II. It will be released as a series of custom map (ACT:ZONE) published through Battle.net Arcade. The alpha build of this mod is planned for a Summer 2016 release. Blizzard should really port Diablo and Diablo II to the new engine of theirs.
Blizzard should really port Diablo and Diablo II to the new engine of theirs.
What they're doing with their older titles is fine. Making them compatible with today's systems is enough for anyone to go back and play them again. But if you really want a Diablo/2 remake then this is where and how it's going to happen. The Starcraft 2 engine is just as capable at recreating the classics in 3D. It just takes a lot of work because all of the assets will have to be made from scratch.
Damn, even the ambience is pretty well emulated. Still peeved that D3 went for a more simple/cartoonish path
The Blood Raven scene and lines gave me chills I haven't felt in over a decade.
Makes me wonder, what the fuck are they waiting to get Diablo 1 runnable and available on their store?
Just seeing those old Skills, like the Sorceress' Charged Lighting, makes me more excited than I ever was for Diablo 3.
