There's numerous factors that apply and it is a case-to-case basis, however. Sometimes fame goes to their head and think they're above it all, sometimes they get into drugs due to others pushing it as "part of the lifestyle", sometimes they had a poor upbringing, etc. etc. They choose their destiny just like the rest of us. Lindsay seems to be getting herself on track for now.

She has her shit together now but at one time she was the poster child for child actors gone crazy EDIT: I saw a documentary on TV a while back where she talked about her past drug problems and how she turned her life around. I can't remember who made it or what its called though. It might have been some series on child stars or something I can't remember. I just remember her talking about how adults would openly give her coke and other drugs when she was still a girl.
