Strange Sound in Abandoned Psychiatric Hospital - NY
In this clip I was able to capture strange unexplained audio. We had been exploring this abandoned psychiatric hospital when I opened the door to a stairwell and heard what sounded like an animal or a person moaning in pain coming from upstairs. The sound is definitely coming from within the building. I tried to write it off as just the wind or something, but when I accidentally made a noise it stopped as if I had startled it. I went back out in the hallway and waited a moment before I opened the door again, this time with my camera rolling to hear the noise continue. I accidentally made another noise closing the door and the sound from upstairs stopped again. We didn't go up to see what it was. The sound was really loud. It scared us enough that after four hours of exploring this hospital we suddenly left.
Sounds like a generator or a strong wind, why do people have to be so paranoid.
seenging paipez

Nature is unpredictable and some generators are schedualed with a timer. When you're being in a unknown mysteriuse atmosphere your brain tricks you with everything, it's completely natural.

I don't think it's timed to start and stop exactly when you open or close the door. :v:
However, could it be that you can't hear whatever it is through the door when it's closed?
could also be a squatter that knew you were there and decided to fuck with you
Sounds like a draft created by opening the door.
Not2spoky
As if abandoned hospitals aren't spooky enough.
snip apparently dumb, you dont want to see it
you'd think people would have learned to stop going on urban exploration adventures to Silent Hill by now
Could have been a frog

What are you talking about?
Ofcourse it's a mysterious monster that lurks in abandoned hospital and it was startled by a slamming door which OP closed.
sounds like a fun time you had op
sounds like the new death grips album is coming along nicely
Considering it stopped when you slammed the door, I'm inclined to think it's some kind of animal. Possibly an owl or a mourning dove.
It's a draft in the ducting. I've experienced the same thing when I worked at the US naval academy. The top floor of one of the buildings makes a horrible wooshing noise whenever somebody opens the first (but not second) door to one of the restrooms.

Yeah because "Chances" does not exist, right?

Ok so...
A fan started and stopped exactly the same time this person opened and closed the door.
Atleast twice.
Within the same few minutes.

What kind of generator would be running after a building has long since been abandoned?
You shit yourself over a pigeon cooing?
Considering it stopped when you slammed the door, I'm inclined to think it's some kind of animal. Possibly an owl or a mourning dove.
but isn't that how it always goes? they go there to check the source of a noise, and they find that it's an animal fooling around
and then the thing gets them from behind
ghosts
boy that was easy, do you have another mystery i can solve
Why didn't anyone just go look at what it was.
Probably some guy on the top floor dressed like this:

I think those sounded like snorks, what kind of fool goes unarmed in prypiapt anyway?
It stopped when he slammed the door so it was a draft.
