due to youtube probably gonna take it down, here it is on streamable https://streamable.com/mh3w so much more class than the entire rio olympics setup (except for the athletes performance of course)
There was a lot more from japan, especially the part where the shift from one camera to another. Also the dancers started striking jojo poses.

Tokyo 2020 opening ceremony is going to be sick, can't wait to see it
If they don't do anything Akira related, I'd be pretty pissed. Akira predicted Japan having the Olympic on 2020
was it raining at Rio?
they have the money they have the economy
they have the money they have the economy
they have the technology they have the capability to make japan's first winter olympics. tokyo will host it. better than it was before. better. stronger. faster.
If they don't do anything Akira related, I'd be pretty pissed. Akira predicted Japan having the Olympic on 2020
I'm hoping for Geinoh Yamashirogumi to play at the opening ceremonies. Slow taiko drumming would be the absolute best shit.
Wow that teaser video and closing ceremony was really good.
If they don't do anything Akira related, I'd be pretty pissed. Akira predicted Japan having the Olympic on 2020
They recruit their top genetic engineers to turn an actual orphan into a massive, ever-growing blob of pulsing flesh. Everyone at the opening ceremony is revolted yet awed, and applauds the performance as possibly one of the best Olympic openers of all time.
Can't wait to see all the akira cosplayers there.
I bet Japan is really going to embrace having the games, at the very worse empty seats will be a lot harder to spot.
If they don't do anything Akira related, I'd be pretty pissed. Akira predicted Japan having the Olympic on 2020
well that olympics was in neo-tokyo, old tokyo was nuked
well that olympics was in neo-tokyo, old tokyo was nuked
I mean, there's still some time until 2020
they have the technology they have the capability to make japan's first winter olympics. tokyo will host it. better than it was before. better. stronger. faster.
south korea is the next winter one. It's going to be summer olympics, with skateboarding not snowboarding.
due to youtube probably gonna take it down, here it is on streamable
Was a pretty nice sneak up! The mario part surprised a lot
so much more class than the entire rio olympics setup
Would you care to elaborate more? Rio Opening and Closing ceremony is already rated as one of the most beautiful and organized in the history of the modern olympic games.
was it raining at Rio?
Yes! However the ceremony went without any problems
Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, literally.
I actually started to save money since last month for a trip to Tokyo, perhaps not on the Olympics because of the much higher prices for just about anything but it would sure be a bonus to witness the Olympics, did the same with the London Olympics.
Would you care to elaborate more? Rio Opening and Closing ceremony is already rated as one of the most beautiful and organized in the history of the modern olympic games.
i was talking about the whole fact that the rio olympics was terribly set up, i am not talking about anything that happened in the olympics, just the behind the scenes work and errors that happened during the event (pools turning green, athletes getting robbed, tourists being taken hostage, middle finger to the poor/police/firemen, etc.) im sure the actual event was a fun time the only issue that i heard from tokyo is that they dont know where to set up yet.
After the rio shitfest im really looking forward to what Tokyo can do
south korea is the next winter one. It's going to be summer olympics, with skateboarding not snowboarding.
why must you ruin my 6 million dollar man reference with facts
I think I'm actually tempted to go to Tokyo 2020 as I've always wanted to go to Tokyo anyways, maybe we could make a Facepunch meetup out of it
i wish our prime minister dressed up as mario
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn. That was something.......
Tokyo 2020 opening ceremony is going to be sick, can't wait to see it
Someone told me they want to create and artificial meteor shower instead of using fireworks at the opening ceremony.
Someone told me they want to create and artificial meteor shower instead of using fireworks at the opening ceremony.
That'd be fucken rad but fireworks are absolutely Japan's thing
That'd be fucken rad but fireworks are absolutely Japan's thing
That's why they're going for the illest fireworks. IIRC the plan, or rumor, was for them to deorbit a satellite during the opening ceremony.
i was talking about the whole fact that the rio olympics was terribly set up, i am not talking about anything that happened in the olympics, just the behind the scenes work and errors that happened during the event (pools turning green, athletes getting robbed, tourists being taken hostage, middle finger to the poor/police/firemen, etc.)
Many of the topics you mentioned are fabricated from the media who wanted the Olympics to fail. They did the same with Beijing and Sochi. The pools turning green was surely a mistake, the pool filtration system leaked a chemical used on the water cleaning process and it caused that colour, but no harm to athletes. This could happen anywhere and anytime. Was not Rio's fault. Also, some stories regarding atheletes getting robbed was purely fabricated No tourists were reported held hostage at any time at the games And about the middle finger to the poor/police/firemen i thought that was regulation by IOC since all cities that the games goes this happens
That's why they're going for the illest fireworks. IIRC the plan, or rumor, was for them to deorbit a satellite during the opening ceremony.
That'll be impressive as hell if they manage it and make it visible, the problem is it might burn up before it can be seen.
