Wow... This is REALLY well done, it's always nice to see old games getting this sort of modding treatment.
perfect timing for the star wars humble bundle :B
Holy shit this is impressive. It's a bold move to go for the overheating weapons over thermal clips, but I like it.
Wait nevermind, they have both
I'm really disappointed that there is no first person, still looks awesome.

I always found the whole thermal clips idea stupid compared to a somewhat original concept - You can fire your weapon at a high rate to deal a large amount of damage in a shorter space of time at the cost of waiting a few seconds to do so again, or you can maintain a relatively slow rate of fire and deal steadier damage. With thermal clips it's just the same old "shoot until you have to reload, then shoot again". What's to stop the firearms manufacturers of the future incorporating the same cooling technology from ME1 alongside thermal clips, and automating the process of ejecting them? That way you would be able to fire constantly until you run out of thermal clips after which you revert to ME1 style shoot, cool down, shoot, cool down etc. jesus fuck bioware
snip blablabla
i prefer having to reload the gun honestly. i dunno i just like how it makes you think more before wasting your ammo.
i prefer me1 over me2 because (imo) me2 felt like playing an encyclopedia, compared to me1 where things weren't fleshed out and felt a lot more natural. ambiguity is a valuable narrative tool and should be used more frequently in games.
er, you do know ME1 has tons of codex stuff?
yes i do
ME2 felt WAAAAAAAY less fleshed out than ME1.

In terms of world building that is.
ok maybe i used the wrong term then but i just don't feel like discussing something as useless as this so whatever i'll just snip the post

When playing ME, combat could happen, and did happen without much warning, you could be fighting through the same areas as you were talking to people in earlier. In ME2 it was like "Oh look, some chest high walls, I wonder if we're going to get ambushed/betrayed"
Mass Effect should have been more like Max Payne regarding combat.

Apparently Bioware wanted to utilize a mix of both, normal cooling over time, or extracting a thermal clip for immediate cooling. But playtesters disliked it making them change it to the system we have now.
There was a WW2 mod in development for SWBF2 a while back.

Playtesters are dumb.
Fuuuuck that overheat sound brought me right back.
You know, this reminds me of that Mass Effect FPS that never came to be. I was always bummed it was cancelled.
