If you didn't realize it on the first run, the entirety of a movie is a parody/love letter to...pretty much the entire horror genre by pointing out how overused all those tropes are while simultaneously reveling in their glory under the guise that [sp]everything is staged.[/sp]

yeah I recently watched it expecting some shitty horror movie, and I was very pleasantly surprised, I loved it

I read on the wiki for the cabin in the woods there was supposed to be a left 4 dead dlc in which the survivors are in the cabin's house and faculty but never made it.

The movie had a great build-up, but I felt as if the ending was a bit of a let-down, following from the whole 'purge button', the 'director lady gets killed /just in time/', and so on. I understand that it's a wink to all the horror tropes out there, as with a lot of the movie, but the difference between that lot and the final ones is that they (unlike those in the ending) are rationalized by the whole ritual business, while the purge button and such are not. Be sure to tell me if I'm missing anything here, just finished watching it. Great movie nonetheless.
