Skip to 4:38 for the good stuff
-snip-
I am bad at Defcon. And I mean really bad. If you are bad and want to win at least once in this game, I am your perfect opponent.
Even though I'm not interested in VR, I have to say this is pretty impressive.
Awesome
I mean it's a shame the HTC Vive is priced as much as it is and also how much space you need for it to work properly.

Aren't these the actual IntroVersion devs? That's pretty cool actually.

Mark Morris And Chris Delay, the two regulars seen in the IV videos, are two of the three founders of IVSoftware (along with Thomas Arundel)
So not only are they 'just' introversion devs, but would have been developing Defcon itself 11 years ago

Wait hang on, I have access to the Defcon Source code

🤔
I wonder if I can get anywhere with this
VR is amazing because it makes the mere act of spectating another game completely engaging. I don't play dota at all, but I find myself spending hours sometimes just watching the game played from the amazing spectator mode. I can see myself using this just as much as well.
God damn, VR is some hype shit.

The space required for the Vive more or less scales to what you need it to be. If you want full roomscale, yeah, you need a room, but I've spent just as much time playing in my completely cramped bedroom that doesn't even meet Vives 'minimum' space requirements. Plus, the thing works as a standard VR headset anyway so it doesn't matter.
DEFCON is the best. I play it every 4th of July to simulate freedom being destroyed.

So because of OP's video I learned that the founders of IV did a video review for a mod for Uplink called Uplink OS which is a graphical and UI overhaul of Uplink. It's legit as shit and I've been sucked back into playing it again.
These guys seem really great.

Yeah, There was a moddb news thread for it last december in the News Node, it looks like it's inspired by Hacknet OS (moddb share an office with it's publishers).
It went relatively unnoticed
Now you can re-enact this scene in VR

Talk about how to make a great game become awesome!
