Still think the bloods a bit overdone, but eh, it's still better than 99% of the blood effects out there.
Starting to think to preorder it, it looks better with every new video. Being aware of its alpha state, is it any good?
That combat around the :55 mark was fucking awesome.
I love the blood. Why don't all games have such in-depth blood simulation. Never in a fighting game do you slash someone with a blade to see strong bleeding from the wound simulated in real-time. Its so intense
So violent! this game is looking to be awesome. Me and my friends love highly skilled fast and responsive games and there haven't been many out there recently. I have high hopes for this game.
He seems to be adding lots of cool technical things, yet useless. Will this ever turn into a actual game or will he just keep messing around with random stuff?

I've preordered this game a long time ago. Worth of every cent.

The landscapes in this game are amazing.
Hope decapitation comes in later, just to make the cutting more realistic and brutal.

Have you ever played Lugaru? Overgrowth is basically Lugaru 2, look it up.
It looks amazing and it's not even close to being finished.
Still think the bloods a bit overdone, but eh, it's still better than 99% of the blood effects out there.
The blood is overdone because it is there to demonstrate the effect. He said that he will fine tune it later on. [editline]14th June 2011[/editline]
Starting to think to preorder it, it looks better with every new video. Pre-ordering it now also lets you activate the game on Steam once it is done. Which is always good. (However you are not forced to.)
it just keeps getting better and better. i cant wait.

They are useless. Everything should look like dwarf fortress.
Wolfire have stated they want to achieve a very high level of quality unprecedented in indie games with Overgrowth. So these subtle, yet amazing details are their way of saying "Hey, we actually give a shit about our game, and we want to make an amazing product that everyone will look up to". Seriously, this game would be nothing without the incredible devotion and effort these guys have poured into the audiovisual experience, and it's still probably a couple years from completion. The blood is also obviously still being adjusted, it's been tweaked for every build for the past 5 builds now, and they're still improving it
Also starting to consider preordering, keeps looking better and better.
Feedback sounds awesome, going to look into it some more. And I always like to support indie devs :buddy:
Reminded me of "300" at :55. I hope all of the combat is realistic like that, with 2 hit kills, but has more acrobatics and crazy stuff. Because rabbits.
The most memorable part of Lugaru was when you grabbed a weapon from your enemy. That shit was so intense.
He seems to be adding lots of cool technical things, yet useless. Will this ever turn into a actual game or will he just keep messing around with random stuff?
I am impatient, I want everything NOW!
Is this version of the alpha just a sandbox to test things, or is there any gamemodes/bots or whatever?
Just preordered because of this. Can't wait.
There's bots, but don't expect marvels. This games is going to keep getting developed for ages; and if they keep adding minute, little details that set it apart from a stock game, I'll love it all the more.
I just couldn't hold myself back this time... Not like it costs much, only $29.95!
You don't see this kind of level of detail and quality that much in games anymore. I'm really tempted to pre-order it.
Do you have to create your levels always by yourself or are there some shipped with the alpha?
Even lugaru was awesome :v:
