Doesn't look like anything special. I really hate the art style.
Doesn't look like anything special. I really hate the art style.
I really do hope they fix it, it seemed like an interesting concept but I'm not sure now that I've seen the trailer. That section with the gray opaque water looked really bad.
the guy who directed 9 is on this movie? it will be good then.
looks like shit
The start doesn't really make any sense. A guy appears and points a gun at the camera? Also the water in the chamber looks like cum.
Looks more like a trailer for a game than a movie, graphics could use some improvement. Also: even if the whole thing is being made in a game engine, this is way too soon to start making a video game of it.
I like the part where 2 guys heading each other though. [editline]12th June 2012[/editline] Damn I don't trust automerge anymore..
Doesn't look as good as I thought it would. I was pegging it to look more akin to the "meet the" videos. This just looks like video games/student animations circa 2005.
I'd rather have Meet the Pyro, but this looks interesting enough.

Looks...Okay? Reminds me of a underwater Borderlands.
Reading comments made me think that they made some HL2 video recording on a BSP map for some reason This however, much better
The quality is still awful. Source is capable of some really nice looking scenes, especially when prerendered and with the tools Valve gave these guys. Sucks that they didn't take advantage of that. Even if they're going for an artstyle, it's very low detail.
I thought it looked really good, im going to watch it.
I hope it is just because they are in the early phases of production. We know from the various videos and trailers that Valve has produced that Source is capable of much better visuals than what we've seen this teaser.

9 also had a low budget and animation but I still liked it. Though this does show how outdated the source engine looks.
9 also had a low budget and animation but I still liked it. Though this does show how outdated the source engine looks.
No, it shows how much effort and time they put into it. They probably don't really have a lot of money and time to make this, so they're most likely not going to take advantage of Source's full potential. Honestly it looks like it's in some sort of alpha-rendering stage. A lot of the stuff doesn't look finished.
the guy who directed 9 is on this movie? it will be good then.
The guy couldn't even come up with his own story. He took it from a guy on YouTube who played a bigger role in making the feature length film than the director did.
I am going to wait for the final product to come out to judge this. Edit: Faceposer.exe has crashed.
I might be thinking too far ahead with this, but, I wouldn't mind seeing these sets they're designing in Gmod.
The guy couldn't even come up with his own story. He took it from a guy on YouTube who played a bigger role in making the feature length film than the director did.
FYI, the guy who did the short film in 2005 was the guy who directed the full film.
2 deep 4 u ~~
you know there's a good chance they think that their plot is shit when the advertise the movie based on what equipment they're making it with, rather than what it's actually about. this doesn't get my vote of confidence, sorry.
Something like this would be so fucking sweet, of course with the more updated engine and with custom animations and what not
Those water effects in the ship looked bollocks. Other than that, could be pretty good.
Looks rather shit to be honest
Doesn't source engine have some funky ass skeleton rigging on models?
Doesn't source engine have some funky ass skeleton rigging on models?
Source uses bone structures when manipulating a model yes. But so does virtually every other engine, too. Rigging itself has nothing to do with engine and is related to modeling/animating process.
