Aren't you supposed to stun ticks with alcohol before you remove them ?

Many ways of removing them like fire/hot stick, However most common is simply grab them by the head/teeth close to the skin with clippers and pull them gently until they let go, You don't want the body to be removed from the head which than gets left still biting.
Blue Tongue Lizards are not completely harmless. Those jaws pack a bite and their gums are really sharp. I got a really nasty bite from one I used to have as a pet.

Peppermint extract or 120 proof booze tends to work. Also works for botflys.
It's so strange he calls it a "skink". Never heard them called that in my life.
Seems on Wikipedia they're called skinks too. Weird.

Not gonna lie, I probably would've crushed those ticks on the spot out of principle

Fairly sure that's just a specific subspecies:

I love blue-tongued skins so much <3
I got to pet one at a car show.
Yeah it was odd finding one there. A woman had one in a blanket like a baby. I wasn't going to ask why she had one here in California, my thought pattern was; ask if it's a blue tongue skink>ask for the skink's name> ask to pet the skink
Please don't call them skinks, it hurt my Australianisms.
fuck your ecosystems how do we genocide every tic off the planet
Ah good. At least in this episode he's not fucking dying

Any animal with a jaw is harmful by that logic though.

Skinks are a type of lizard. They are adorable and smooth-skinned little dudes

Not exactly sure why this is getting dumbs. Wild skinks try to intimidate predators. If that fails, they run. They only bite as a last resort. As you can see in the video, they're not even aggressive when you pick them up. They are mostly harmless. Any animal will eventually harm you if you push it far enough.
Skinks are such adorable lil' dorks with their stubby useless legs.

Few creatures elicit the raw, hateful disgust in me like tics do
I actively want every last one in my vicinity gone and destroyed
Their legs and claws look like tiny dragon hands.
he should have fed that skink the ticks

No, no, no, no. They can throw up into your bite wound and transfer any disease they might carry.
