Well fuck me. The future is here

I want to see some kind of RTS using this thing. Hopefully it actually works as well as it did in the video. [t]http://www.popsci.com/sites/popsci.com/files/styles/medium_1x_/public/warroom2.jpg?itok=XWuSBYAq[/t] Also, I kept picturing this in my head.
It will probably cost thousands of dollars...
Ugh that woman's fake corporate voice cool tech though
I really wonder if it's going to be this clear. I'm just imagining it's going to be slightly blurry and see through kinda like additive blending in the picture below. Maybe it'll be like google glass? Is google glass like the "additive blending"?
wow nice holograms in my 20s heck yes i thought i'd be an older sucker waiting for this to happen
The 2.5 billion dollar Mojang purchase might make more sense if they're really trying to use this as a selling point for their hololense. Just kidding, no it doesn't. They could have made like 25 gears of war/halo/mass effect level franchises from the ground up on that much money.
there's a 2.5 billion dollar difference between the acquisition of an established company and a plethora of attempts at intellectual properties that don't ever make it big time
great.... now whens the modding API and official mod support come, because vanilla minecraft is boring as shit and devoid of anything interesting
you sound more like a boring person
Bear in mind, they have been working on this in secret for a very long time. If it turns out to be as good as it looks, could be a game changer, not necessary for gaming but think of the applications for science/ idea communication around the world, imagine being able to share an engineering concept with a conference halfway across the world, being able to dissect the design piece by piece in a 3d space. Not to long ago, designs for Concorde and the Saturn V where done by pencils on one of these: Frankly, it's a fucking amazing time to be alive.
I'm honestly impressed and excited.
Again, the current Hololens has a tiny FoV and it's doubtful they can fix it till release due to the technology used. The guy who "played" minecraft never saw the full table. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9sPki5i.png[/t] Everything around the small rectable in front of you is invisible/cropped. But the stuff that you do see, is solid and realistic with very little to no transparency.
I actually know someone who has used this, he said it was actually incredible
Strategy games would be cool with this
This is very similar to the 3DS AR cards.

Imagine being the owner of a popular Minecraft server with that. Fuck that would make being admin/e-baby sitter fun

What they did was use something like google glass and tinted the glasses.
Not to disagree, but if that was the case why didn't it show up on the camera?
Because the camera overlayed the whole holographic image afterwards, it wasn't looking through an actual HoloLens unit. [editline]16th June 2015[/editline] HoloLens is far from as all-encompassing as the camera makes it seem, plus they don't seem to have fixed the additive blending problem so technically holograms are poorly visible in bright light.
Not to disagree, but if that was the case why didn't it show up on the camera?
I see, so like it's not actually a camera view, it's a transparent view with a projection on some part of it. If the thing turns off you can see normally unlike a Rift or other more immersive screens. Did you guys try it?
Where did you guys get this info from? Did you guys try it?
All the journalists who tried it at E3 said that exact same thing.
And Microsoft has acknowledged it themselves saying it won't get much better if at all. http://www.theverge.com/2015/6/18/8809323/microsoft-hololens-field-of-view-kudo-tsunoda
