mark hamill has been waiting for this and he's gonna make this so good.

The fucking B:TAS Tombstone Batmobile is back.
I can't fucking wait. :dogcited:
This gonna be a good summer.
The best version of Batman and the characters in it, combined with the most well written and characterized piece of media in the Batman series.
Regardless how any of this goes, from what I've seen I can't see this being anything less than a well-polished piece of love for the series as a whole.
Does anyone know if this will be direct to video or will it have a limited theatrical release first?
It looks really slick but I hope they don't fuck up the ending. I don't know how could they adapt that part without[sp]spoiling whether he killed him or not.[/sp]
It would be interesting to see this with the original psychedelic colors

I love watching clips of Mark doing the Joker voice because he gets so into it, with the gestures and posture and everything.

Nothing's confirmed, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. DC hasn't released an animated batman film since mask of the phantasm.

i know it's not what the artist wanted but the original color scheme fits the comic so well
I'm literally throwing my money at the screen, give it me now!!! It's basically the amalgamation of everything about the animated series i loved and like a bittersweet way to finish it off.
I was grinning like a fucking maniac all the way through, I can't fucking wait.
As a fanboy of Batman: TAS of ridiculous proportions, I could not be happier to see this shit happening.
I know Hamill in particular has waited a really long time for this so I'm expecting nothing less than a complete knockout performance from him. Then you have the likes of Conroy and Strong along for the ride too.
Dear god this is gonna be fucking great. I want it and I want it now!
I remember watching a bit of the B:TAS and i gotta say it was a pretty good show. Though after watching this video about The Killing Joke (Which i've never read) i think it might be really fun to watch.

Yes they have, just all of them have been direct-to-video.
For example: Son of Batman, Batman vs Robin, Bad Blood, and the Dark Knight Returns.

Ah, woops. I meant to say they haven't released one in theaters since then.
please don't mess up the ending, idc what anyone says [sp]Batman kills the joker then and there. They better make it as ambiguous as the comic.[/sp]
So unbelievably fucking HYPED for this
I hope the Joker is as expressive as in the comic. A lot of recent Batman stuff just has him locked into the iconic grin, but the little changes in tone add so much more to the character.

Man, I love Bruce Timm for his work and the iconic look of Batman: TAS
But I still wish they leaned closer to the comic's art style, despite the cost.
I'm glad they've decided not to hold back on anything. It looks like it's going to be just as brutal (if not more) than the original comic.
I just can't freaking wait. Conroy and Hamill are the best versions of Batman and Joker.

Yeah, honestly I'm not at all impressed with the animation. There are some money shots (Joker making a toast, the Joker's first laugh, etc) but a lot of it looks like an average TV show episode at best.
There's an animation style I see from time to time in Anime where they use heavy black shadows, very light highlights, and flat colors rather than smooth digital shading. I feel like that could have been a good way to evoke the comic's style. Bolland uses a lot of hatching (which is implausibly complex to do in animation) but he does use a pretty stark light/shadow contrast.

Alternatively they could do something like those amazing Zellers ads. Obviously not the zaniness of the animation but more in the inking style; heck, the colors even remind me of the original TKJ:

There was actually an anime called Divine Gate that had a similar shading style of Redline, but didn't take seven years to make. While apparently the show is trash, I think that the heavy shadows would work for Batman stuff.

I can only hope that it's a sign that the scenes that they showed were unfinished, and that they just made sure to finish the more iconic scenes. That's just being optimistic though; I'm not sure if that's how animation works.
Pretty much every other Batman animated movie, including ones of much less importance, has looked more "finished" than this. Hell, The Dark Knight Returns looked better in most places than the comic it was based on.
Aaaaand taken down.
Watch The Dark Knight Returns.
Who says I haven't already?
Watch The Dark Knight Returns.
One of best, if not the best comic book adaptations.
Honestly I'll take a special lost episode of Batman: TAS over whatever else could have happened to this.
I'm looking full forward to this.
