I really hope we can see stuff like the full body awareness in games soon, with things like the Occulus Rift and Kinect.
Fuck that's awesome.
-Whoopsie-
I really want to have a go at doing this
Aw, I thought he'd start running arround with his hands and feet like a monkey. :v:
Now make it all controlled only by our mind so that we don't actually have to walk to walk ingame.
He should apply some smoothing so the animation is not so jerky.
This looks amazing, way to solve the walking would be some form of treadmill?

Guessing you could use something like the omni directional treadmill thing they used in that battlefield 3 VR session that was on a gadget show program.
Just imagine Amnesia with this thing.
The future looks great.
I want this
i want so much of this
Damn, imagine how easy it would be to stay in shape if you literally had to run from Manhacks?

They need to make them affordable first.
Just imagine Amnesia with this thing.
The game would have to be able to detect when the player shits their pants.
That 1st person bit was damn amazing
I can see Arcades making a comeback with VR rooms. There isn't a chance in hell you could fit one of these into the average home.
not yet..but thats what computers were first like remember.
one day every house might come with a VR room standard. ..unless they find a matrix like way to do it
cars were invented ...so houses got garages
computers and dvd's came out ..most people have media/pc rooms now
fucking awesome VR that makes me want to jizz my pants? ........VR room added to the list
Maybe in the future most reasonable houses will be built with a VR/computer work room in mind, taking over the lounge as the chief entertainment room.
I'm not sure how the setup works; if it requires a camera at all, then an omni-directional treadmill is probably the only option. However, if it doesn't, I could see hamster ball like setups becoming popular in the short term. I'd once considered a harness/slippery floor type setup, but that's probably just asking for trouble.
Holy shit this is to good! The possibilities are endless!
Holy crap it's like Kinect except not shit.
Imagine in a couple years when the processing power and electronics manufacturing is advanced enough to have individual fingers and maybe even faces tracked by this thing. Gaming would never be the same, and this seems like the first thing that might actually get me fully "immersed" in one.
Did anyone else expect him to start actually picking up the plants when he crouched down and "grasped" them?
I hope for the day I can actually feel the gun in my hands, feel the recoil. Or drive a car and feel how hard to turn the steering wheel is, and feel every bump and rock with tactile feedback. Thats what I want. Imagine this in crysis, or some other game with a fully interactive world.

I've seen a couple guns in arcades that do pretty good recoil and even one you have to manually reload.
For car simulators, well,

It's just a matter of making the tech cheaper and smaller.
Man puzzle games will be so much more immersive with this.

Well its possible by having a sort of harness over your hands and legs, and with little movements you can do all the movements you want ingame with little practice.
This looks so amazing, sadly enough you need space to move around in (or organize shit in empty halls, which could also be a really good match against friends) to do this. I really want it though.

oh man imagine this in a huge field with friends and combined with Augmented Reality

Now make all this for Max Payne, so i can jump around and do stupid stunts while trying to get bullet time to activate.

You'd use painkillers in-game to heal yourself.
Then you would use em' IRL to cure the freaking head-ache of having that VR googles on your face all day.
